The Dollars Trilogy - Complete Original Scores

This is fantastic. It is not 100 percent exactly the same as the decades old soundtracks many of us, including me, have owned and enjoyed over the years on vinyl and cd. Usually I would steer clear of any cd containing re-recordings but not in this case. Here Morricone himself has re-recorded the music as faithfully as possible, the result of a serious, painstaking, major project. The booklet included tells you about it - and it is a very thick booklet. The music sounds 99.99 percent the same, such as makes no difference, in my opinion. And here you get everything that was written for the 3 films. The original soundtracks are a lot shorter than what you get here. Even If you bought all those original soundtracks you are not still wasting your money if you buy this box set. This isn't some cheap rip off box set. It is WELL WORTH BUYING.

The Complete "The Dollars Trilogy" unlike the 2008 version. Its a diamond in my vast musical collection.Its always pleasing to hear this album.It reminds of my golden childhood days. It also brings sweet memories of Client Eastwood coy boy movies n ground breaking music.Even after 50 years who can forget that superb whistling title musical track of For a few dollars more or superb tracks of The Good Bad n UglyEnnio Morricone is just superbMusic links people from different countries n cultures.It'd a bridge between heartsRavi chaturvedi

Despite appearances, this two-disc set lacks the famous, original soundtrack recordings of these three scores. Instead, so far as I can ascertain, many (if not all) instruments are computer synthesized, 'based on the original scores'.Whilst the finished result sounds slick and fairly convincing (though any brass instruments sound so utterly horrid as to cause one to skip to the following track), it lacks the magic, and individually pleasing sounds for which I sought the CDs out. If you enjoyed the soundtracks to these films, I would beseech you to find the original recordings instead, and give this CD-set a miss.

These are not the originals. Good sound quality but these versions are no where near as good as the original soundtracks.

Although it is conducted by the great man himself, it is not the soundtrack as heard on the film. This may be splitting hairs, but I prefer the original score - sorry, but these are the full versions which may not be available elsewhere.

This is a superior collection of rerecorded soundtracks from the Dollars Trilogy. They are not only complete (with additional bonus material) but in my opinion indistinguishable from the original soundtrack recordings. They were a joy to listen to.

The collection itself is very nice with a lot of music, much more than on any other soundtrack cd of the same films. Morricone rerecorded the music for this collection in a style that is more like the concerts he's been doing lately. I also have some of the original soundtracks and I must say I prefer those. They have a rawness and originality that is sometimes lost in the new recordings.
