Measurements are Tough
I made this twice because the first time I made WAY too much & it got lumpy and did not work out.Thereafter, I do this:Bring to a simmer 6 cups of water.Add 2 Tablespoons Konjac powder a little at a time. Whisk/Stir for 15 mins to break up lumps for 15 mins. It’ll be like kids’ toy “slime” consistency.Dissolve 2 teaspoons of the other chemical powder with warm water.Add that to the mixture and whisk to incorporate (don’t over mix; just mix it in so it’s incorporated).Let it cool on the stove or in the refrigerator. It’ll still be jello-like.Simmer a larger pot of water, slice the konjac, add the konjac to the hot water (I try to slice it uniformly but it’s like softly set jello so it doesn’t slice well).Boil for 20 mins and it’ll become lighter in color and will firm up (see photo). Store in water and replace the water every day to get rid of the chemical flavor from the chemicals). This makes enough konjac for 3 meals for 4 people.

Cool konjac tofu powder
The powder arrived in good condition. It looked healthy. The smell was acceptable. It seems like a solid bag of powder. There's enough to last a good while.

Excellent
Great product! This is even better quality than the kind I regularly get inside China. Making the conjac tofu is easy following the instructions and the texture is nice and firm. With only 25g of powder I make enough tofu for two stir fry dishes. This one bag can go a long way.

Easy way to make your own Konjac Tofu
I love Konjac but never thought about making it myself. This kit includes Konjac Tofu Powder and Sodium Carbonate which is what you need to make it minus the water. Instructions are included though watching the video is even more helpful. The kit includes enough ingredients to make up to 55 lbs worth of Konjac Tofu. It takes a bit of work but it appears to be worth it for the amount you get. The date on the packages are the manufacturers made date and not the expiration date.

Konjac Tofu Mix
Konjac tofu powder 17.63oz/500gThank you for the opportunity to try this Tofu Mix! We found it possible to make about half the amount of that stated in the instructions with 25g of Konjac Powder and 5g of the sodium carbonate. Make sure to dissolve the Sodium Carbonate first to facilitate its mixing! Highly recommend the vendors video on how to make it. Watching the video first will enable a clearer understanding of the printed instructions and helps avoid mistakes!* Noting the date on the Konjac is in Chinese format, it is expired as of May this year (it is December now) and the sodium carbonate is marked as expired a year ago, so took off two stars since they are both expired.

Delicious! Many ways to use! Makes a LOT of Konjac Tofu! Production dates are used, not expiration!
Wow! The "BAILINHOU konjac tofu powder, Pure konjac flour speciflcally formulated for cooking konjac tofu 17.63oz/500g Primary Glucomannan powder" makes a lot! I was quite surprised to see one batch only called for 50g of the Konjac tofu powder and 10g of the Sodium Carbonate plus water. Many batches can be made with the ingredients included. My Konjac tofu wasn't as firm as I would have liked but I probably goofed in converting grams to Tablespoons and teaspoons. Since I have never had or made konjac tofu before I read the included tutorial, watched the video, converted the ingredients to to cups (water) & 'spoons, googled about the ingredients and even searched the icons by the dates on the packages ahead of making it. I do wish they included a nutritional panel for the Konjac tofu once it is made. In particular, how many mg of sodium are in a batch. Some of the ways I have used the konjac tofu is grilled "steak" pieces, stir fry, hot peppers & veggies with gochujang sauce, and grilled with truffle sauce. They all tasted good but I think my favorites are the ones that include the soy sauce (stir fry) and the grilled with truffle sauce. The tofu takes on the flavorings and they were wonderful. I appreciate that they include the warning that the raw konjac flour needs to be cooked before consumption on the listing, tutorial sheet and package. Per the Konjac Tofu Powder bag the "Production date: May/12/2023" (this is also stamped in the bottom of the bag along the seal), the "Best Before: Nov/12/2024" and it states its shelf life is 18 months. For the Food-Grade Sodium Carbonate it is stamped on the back 20231010 and then there are icons. From what I can find on google and comparing the icons this is the production date. That is consistent with the production date being listed first on the tofu powder. I received them in December of 2023 so I have a long time to use the rest of the ingredients before expiration.
