I now have an ax to grind...
I just received the hatchet today, it is everything that Reviewers said it was.Since I know nothing of metallurgy, I can only go with what I see and feel, and my impressions. At first sight it was good, and really, I could stop there. :)The handle is very good, it's the proper length (for me anyway) and it just feels good in the hand. The blade 'seems to be' fine, it was sharp, not as sharp as some have said, and not as dull as others have said. I used the stone that was provided and I could swear I dulled it more. I'll be honest and say that I couldn't tell which side was which, so that says a lot about how much I know. It's still sharp though, I can't think of one use that I would need it to be razor-sharp, but then again, I bought this because I 'just wanted it', no other reason. The rough, 'used a lot' look of the blade is perfect, actually, it's just as I had hoped, I really like that style of blade, whether it's a knife or an hatchet. As far as the (deep grained) wooden handle goes, I'll just have to take their word that it's made from, "English Beech", but it seems to be a very dense wood, I'd liken it to a baseball bat, but more coarse, more grain. Bats are usually made from Maple, now, I think, which is a dense, fine wood. Anyway, I don't think that there will be any problems from it at all. It's fairly 'grippy', it doesn't feel like it'd slip put of your hand that easy, of course, sweat may have other ideas...The holster is seemingly real leather, (I'm pretty sure) and it's made very well, it's just feels kind of wimpy compared to the hatchet itself, it needs to be thicker, but only because it fits the hatchet more. I don't doubt that it will last a long time, even if it is a little thinner than I would like, but it should do its job. The brass rivets that hold it together seem to also be made well, and done right. The snap will hopefully keep working, that is about the first thing to go with this stuff, snaps if made cheap won't last long at all, but we'll see.Overall, my impressions of it all is very good, I feel as though I actually got what I paid for, I am pretty sure that if you are an average person that needs a good hatchet, you will be happy enough with this.I 'may' even do some wood burning art or Dremel carving on the handle, but if my wife is right, and I am lazy, then I won't. We'll see...

Pretty!
The shape of the head is very nice and the handle has a good finish to it. I’ve been engraving these and this has a rough surface with some scaling. By no means a bad thing, just a little different for my purposes. Be sure to treat the head with some rust protectant as it feels untreated to the touch where most others, even from this company, have a thin film I can feel protecting the bare metal. It comes with a nice sheath; great value for the cost. It might be a little more of a good looking axe opposed to a good functioning axe. It’s not really well balanced, you can easily see where the head isn’t symmetrical and can feel the weight shift in your hand HOWEVER! It’s still a great axe to me and I would buy another as needed. If you’re looking for a more utility focused item, it might be better to invest a small amount more and get an actual tool oriented axe.

Premium Quality/Budget Friendly
I almost did not buy this because the low price seemed that it might preclude the possibility of quality, but I was wrong. The hatchet is well balanced. The steel held up after I relentlessly pounded on walnut and the handle is comfortable. The only minor complaint that I have is that the choice of wood for the handle was not the best. The woodgrain is not completely straight from top to bottom as there is quite a bit of run off which of course makes cracking more likely.

Excellent belt axe
It is the perfect size to carry on the belt next to the seax. It was mostly dull, however i am gettinga decent edge via the sharpening puck that came with the axe. I do think I'll need to head to my belt sander to get a quicker and better edge. The sheath is well made and needs to wear in to fit properly, but it is definitely a nice addition. I did not receive any extra handle wedges, but they are easily obtained if needed. The handle seems stout, so that shiuld be a long way off. I would love to see an axe of the same design a bit bigger for larger work. The axe head is thick and well made. This should last a lifetime.

Head was loose
Overall this product is very nice and has great quality, the head was loose when I took it out of the box. So that was aggravating, I would’ve gave 5/5 otherwise.

Durable and handy
Use mostly for splitting kindling when camping instead of using a full size axe. Useful for that application and looks cool as well.

Terrific Hatchet for Carving
The Frostbreaker is marketed as a camp axe which means it comes with a slightly convex cutting edge suitable for chopping, splitting, and batoning. For carving, you'll need to file the cutting edge to a new profile. The hatchet holds its edge well which makes it an excellent choice for use as a carving hatchet. The long "toe" makes hollowing out spoons and bowls fairly easy and the bearded bit design aids in choking up on the handle for light strokes and fine work. I'd buy it again.
