Very cute
Bought as a present for my sister and she loved it. Feels well made and looks very cute.

Good purchse for the price.
Recommended. Reasonably sturdy and well made. I think there's a fair bit of profiteering at the moment, cashing in on the public's desire to protect wildlife. Prices of bug hotels vary massively depending on seller (I've seen them on sale in some shops for £40) for what is essentially a very easy and cheap to make item. This one is a fair price and I'm pretty sure bugs won't reject it because its a cheaper option.

Disappointed
This had only 2 cones, the large round wooden cylinders only had a few holes in so my husband had to drill more. Also the bamboo tubes weren’t all glued in so were protruding and there weren’t any bamboo tubes to fill in the gaps around the large round wooden cylinders. There were fewer triangular wooden pieces: so overall, as the photo showed a lot more, well packed out wooden bamboo tubes, cones, triangular and cylindrical wooden pieces so I was disappointed. Saying that I’m hoping it will still attract the bees, butterflies etc

Happy little bee home
Less pine cones than pictured but overall very cute and solitary bees moved in very quickly! Was bought as a gift for a friend and he’s really enjoyed watching the little holes get filled up as the local residents moved in.

Nice but also disappointing
Product arrived wrapped in single thin plastic and rattling around in a cardboard box. The box had been opened when Hermes delivered it. However it was thankfully still intact. Disappointed it was not the same spec as the photograph. The roof was two different thicknesses (perhaps not that much of an issue as it is rustic), but there were less pieces I the sections than in the photograph. The wider rolls had only two tiny holes drilled in each (not several like the image), and their diameter was nowhere near as wide as the section leaving a lot of empty space either side. We ended up having to cut some bits of bamboo ourselves to add to fill in down the sides. We had only two fir cones in the bottom and only a few tiny triangular pieces of wood in the middle section so that is 2/3 empty space. I know they are individually made but the contents should fill the spaces as per the sales image! Despite that the bees moved in straight away.

Good value for money
Quite a good price for this product. I have seen a lot more versions of these in agree centres for much more money. It’s been up in our garden for 6 months and is doing ok. We have had some solidarity bees nesting in it. You have to make sure you are keeping the spiders out/away to ensure it is a successful bee hotel.Given it has been up over the summer months, it has weathered a bit.Overall am satisfied.

Looks good and hoping the bugs like staying there!
I agree with some other reviews that there are less 'fillings' in the compartments compared to the photograph, but not really a big deal. Too early for any 'residents'; our existing 'bug hotel' took a year before it became 'full', so that's why we got another one. This one is reasonably well made and looks rustic; too early to tell if it will stand the test of time. It arrived quickly and was adequately packaged.

That it’s waterproof
I bought this for my son as he has just moved to the country from urban living and has a garden . I also have one and it is sturdy and very good value .
