These rods are beasts!
We used 1 # green jacks on 50# braid and caught this 70# rooster. Took 35" to bring in using the Okuma Voyager Signature 3 piece travel rod and a 14000 Shimano Saragosa. The rood is strong! Travels! Inexpensive! Don't hesitate.

Excellent Travel Rod Option
Bought this travel rod for a trip to Mexico where the primary focus was not fishing and I wasn't taking multiple rods/reels/tackle. I was looking for a rod that I could carry on the plane and walk the beach with in the mornings. I have a 2-piece Jansen Baja Beach 12 that is a GREAT surf rod, but it is a PIA to travel with.I paired my MH Voyager Signature Surf travel rod with a Penn Slammer III 6500HS on this trip. Key likes:1. This rod is built like a tank. The ferule connections are excellent and you really cannot feel any weak spots as the rod loads. The guides handled 65# braid no problem.2. The MH version of this has A LOT of power. I was casting everything from stick baits, lead head swim baits, poppers, and big old school spoons in various weights. This rod can really sling it! I did not feel like I lost distance if I was casting something on the lighter end of the rod's range, nor did it get sloppy with something on the heavier end.3. I really appreciated the secure feel on the reel seat with my Penn Slammer III 6500HS. That is not always the case with some of my Okuma rods and other reels.4. The rod tube this comes with is a little larger looking if you're used to Okuma Nomad travel rod cases. It is a tube to accommodate the largest guide. However, it was easy to carry on. Not even a look from the TSA or American Airlines about me carrying this on.I did not really have any dislikes. However, one bit of advice if you're used to casting a 12'+ surf rod: ease up on the push/pull motion in your cast. It doesn't take as much energy to fully load this 10' rod.I'll take this rod with me anywhere I go that has a beach.

Awesome..but cheapy zipper on case.
I bought this rod because I plan to travel (obviously) and Okuma is a trusted brand for me personally.I just opened the case to check the pole and the zipper just came right off without any effort.. can’t be traveling around with a broken case so one star down(sorry).I put the rod together and it is very solid and sturdy for a four piece, sections sit nice and tight together. The rod is surprisingly thin and very light. If you’re a surf style fishermen this may be questionable in comparison to a classic-tried and true-solid rod like the Okuma Longitude, but surf rods nowadays are designed lighter and just as strong. The specs say it can manage a main line weight of up to 40lbs, but that has yet to be put to the test. I’ll adjust my star rating after I put it to work and fight with it.I’m not sure I would recommend a very heavy reel to be paired with this so find a lighter reel that can hold closer to the max line weight to match the feel of this rod.If you pair it with something heavier, please comment and give your feedback.

Very nice
This is a great travel rod. Light strong with excellent action - not to mention the pieces go together with ease. My plans changed and instead of traveling back east to Cape cod for striped bass & bluefish, I chose to do a long range tuna trip here in TX, so I returned it. But I assure when I do make that trip I sure hope this rod is still available. Oh, I almost forgot to mention the beautiful carrying case.

Love these rods
I love these rods. Excellent components and a great feeling rod. I keep coming back for more. I now have 4 Voyager Signature rods, 3 versions of the Boat rod, and 1 version of the Surf rod. All are great.

Nice rod
This is a very nice rod. Feels like a one piece. O wanted to keep it, but the pack size was too big for my purpose so I returned it.

Excellent rod terrible case for cost
I received my rod yesterday and realized I had a really good rod, but the case was damaged in transit. Poor design for such an expensive rod. Purchased for Mexico fishing trip so could not return because it arrived days before the trip…disappointed because I had to tape one end.

Muy resistente
La use un par de veces, es resistente, solo que al castear uno de los tubos salió volando.
