Creative Zen MP3 Battery
I purchased A Creative Zen MP3 battery from Amazon.co.uk recently and have been happy with its performance. It surprisingly appears to produce more power than the original battery. I will be ordering another battery to hold as a standby as I was unable to obtain a replacement for the original from local suppliers. Apparently Zen are no longer supplying replacement batteries for this product.Terence Connolly,Kinsale,Ireland.

Easy to fit and works just fine
I have a creative zen mp3 player that was over 10 years old. I hadn't used it for some time but safe to say when I did it was completely dead. I bought this battery and using a video on you tube replaced the old one. It was fairly easy to do and the new battery works just fine. I've had no problems at all.

Does not fit properly
I thought when i got this all my problems were solved. The battery itself is thicker than the original and with that i could not close the player back up.If i had a clamp then maybe but i don't so i am having to return

Happy that battery works but it was quite thick to fit in Zen 30gb. Somehow manage to fit it in but in the process player got so much compressed from inside and become so sensitive that just touch and click at few places causes it to shutdown. Thickness of battery is twice compared to original.

Thoroughly approve of this. The Creative Zen wasn't exactly cheap when I bought it a few years back, and finding that its battery was knackered very nearly found it resigned the tip. But after looking around and watching the many Youtube demos on how to change the battery, I pushed on. Basically, you gently lever off the two plates top and bottom, removing the switch slider as you go. This reveals 4 screws which you remove - ideally you want a cross-point watchmaker's screwdriver for this. Once removed, and note that the longer ones come from the top end, you gently pry open the two halves of the shell. Unstick and unplug the old battery. Fit the new one (it was fully charged BTW). In reversing the process, you'll find that you need to do something with the 2 foam pads at the top end of the motherboard. You can either trim these down a bit, or as I did, get rid of them. If you leave the neoprene flange around the disk drive, nothing rattles afterwards anyway. Beware the top end screws, they are capable of dropping inside whilst you fumble to get those vital first twists in! Maybe magnetise your screwdriver first?

Replacement Battery
This wasn't the cheapest replacement battery out there but i did some research on some of the other products and this seemed to be the lesser of 2 evils.I you tubed the process on how to replace the battery which was a little fiddly as this battery doesn't fit exactly (which all the reviews had mentioned) and i have a screw left over but my creative now works so i am happy.Delivery was swift.Happy
