Get your measurement right and check and double check before you cut.
I fitted this to my downstairs' study room where my window faces the neighbour's front door and it does a very good job if not excellent job of blocking what is inside - all you see from the outside is a mirror reflection. You can see some details of things close to the window on closer inspection but that is all. I made measurements but then got confused without realising that I had mixed the two windows to be done with their alternate widths and lengths causing me all sorts of problems. So my advice is check and double check if you are measuring and using a rule to do this. You can use a Stanley knife but I didn't use this method so can't comment if that would be a better method for getting the size right. My brother covered a window and he used one but it was still a bit jaggy in places, I do know that much. In spite of the blurb, this is a fiddly product to fit. It does slide well though providing you wet both the window and the product. Also, make sure the window is cleans as I still managed to get a black blob in spite of spraying it and wiping it beforehand. Finally, do NOT remove the film and let the sticky side wrap round with static and touch the other side as it is like super glue to separate and you end up with crinkles that you can't flatten out, ruining the result and yes, I did that one too! Good luck. It is possible to get a very good result but you have to be well planned and prepared as any mistakes can be irreversible.

Roll with Folds
Got sent a roll that due to pressure or being sat on had folds throughout. I though I can strech or squeeze them out, not the case. Lines throughout.

Looks ok but hard to remove the protective film
I specifically ordered this to reduce the amount of UV light coming through a south facing window which heats the room up to uncomfortable levels. This window film claims to reduce UV light entering and should reduce heat entering. However I've tried to remove the protective film without creasing the window film and I cannot remove it.The instructions are a bit vague on how to remove the protective film and from my understanding you have to apply a couple of stickers supplied to each side of the film and these are supposed to peel the film's away from each other, but this doesn't work!I found that I had to apply a large bit of cellotape to both sides to peel the film's away.Application to the window is easy enough after spraying water onto both the film and window glass which then makes it easier to slide into position by hand then once you have the film in place you spray the outside of the film and use a credit card, squeegee or the supplied flat plastic piece to remove the air bubbles caught behind the film. Sometimes I find it easier to peel the film slightly away from the window and then squeegee the film back onto the glass to remove most of the air bubbles until it's virtually air bubble free. The effect on the outside is a mirrored effect which makes it difficult for anyone to look directly through the window yet allows you to see outside from within. It's an ok product but not the easiest to work with especially trying to remove the protective film. It feels quite sticky once you remove the protective film but the manufacturer states that this doesn't have adhesive bit relies upon static to cling to the glass which it does reliably.Removing is easy enough and doesn't leave any residue behind and can be stuck again and again. The product could be made easier to work with if the protective film had some sort of grid design for straight even cutting and needs to have reliable removal stickers so you can peel the film's away from each other easier. The film actually frustrated me trying to peel the protective film off until I thought about applying some stronger tape to each side.Yes it's effective but hard to work with.
