It’s solder wire
I ordered the “KAIWEETS Solder Wire 0.031 Inch (0.8mm), 1.76oz (50g) Solder Wire in Pocket Pack for Electrical Welding Soldering and DIY Weld Works” to review and to use for LED light strip projects as well as other electrical projects. I like that it connects and hold my LED light strips effectively. I also like that it is easy to work with. It’s solder wire. It’s a solid product and it’s recommended.Explaining my rating system:5 – Exceeded Expectations – Highly recommend product.4 – Average to Above Average – At least what you would expect based on the Product Page. Maybe a bit more. A solid product. Recommended.3 – Average to Below Average – A bit less than what you would expect based on the Product Page. Left feeling somewhat disappointed. Maybe you’ll feel differently but I cannot fully stand behind the product.2 – Below Average – Incorrect, missing, or misleading information on the product page. Low quality or questionable safety issues. Not recommended.1 – Junk – A complete misrepresentation of the product advertised, severe quality or safety issues. Avoid at all costs.

I Like Lead Free, Don't Like The Small Quantity
When your doing a lot of hand soldering you obviously start to worry about your health. Lead free solder gives you a safe alternative and can be used to repair circuit boards from food packaging equipment. Unless they tell us what chemicals are in the flux this product can not be labeled "safe for food contact". But the lead free label means that it can be used inside a facility that packages food.My big complaint is that there is not much solder on that spool. When you break down the price per gram you suddenly realize that this is not a bargain. If this Company were to get "Food Grade Certification" then that would change everything.

Decent lead free solder for hobbyists
This solder is a decent kind for infrequent use on small projects, like performing a spot repair on vintage computers or electronics, for instance. There's not a lot of it, but I don't do a lot of soldering, and it gives me a lead free option for the limited work I expect to do.

Works well
I ordered the KAIWEETS Solder Wire 0.031 Inch(0.8mm),1.76oz(50g), because we live in a remote area and have to do a lot of our own repairs. There isn’t anyone else nearby that does repairs, and we like to be as self reliant as possible. Having adequate amounts of parts and supplies on hand is critical to our success. That being said we are not professional electronics repair people. We have fairly limited experience in this area. We prefer the smaller diameter solder for most jobs because it heats and flows more easily. We do a lot of off grid projects that sometimes require soldering. We have a Subaru Forester that has the overhead clock. They are notorious for going out due to poor soldering at the factory. We carefully pried the clock face off, and found one wire that was not connected. We added solder to the wire/connection and it works great now. So, with our limited knowledge of the finer points of electronics repair, we have to say that this product seems to work well, and is priced in the general ball park with others. Very happy with it.

RHOS “Lead” Me to This [FOUR STARS]
There is a reason why RHOS has specific exemptions for military, space, and medical—applications that HAVE to work. My own experience is that lead-free solders are troublesome and a poor substitute for old-school solders, but the writing’s on the wall. As long as we’re building mountains of cheap consumer electronics in landfills around the world, its probably best for the groundwater that these mountains contain as little lead as possible. Thus, as leaded solder slowly goes the way of the dodo bird, it makes sense to evaluate the alternatives, even for my own repair and prototype work. Enter the KAIWEETS Solder Wire. This KAIWEETS product is 0.031 solder wire with “2.2% flux”, whatever that number means. It’s nearly all tin, 99.3%, with 0.7% copper making up the balance. The plastic spool is loaded with 1.76oz of solder. For testing purposes, I went about making a number of soldered connections between stranded copper conductors. This solder does not wet as easily as lead-based solder, but almost as good. The flux works well enough, and I can confirm the web page ad copy... it smokes very little.Pros-A lead-free way to make ROHS-compliant solder connections. Reasonable wetting, reasonable adhesion.Cons-Not quite as good as lead solder in terms of wetting ability or flow. I wonder if the 0.7% copper was added to change the melting point of the solder or if it will help to combat tin’s tendency to grow potentially short-circuiting “whiskers.”

Nice lead-free solder, unspecified flux composition
I was impressed with how well this solder flowed and worked. It melted easily and created a strong smooth joint. This is tin/copper, there is no silver.I checked out the KAIWEETS website looking for more detailed specifications, especially the flux. The website states simply the ratio of the tin/copper and that there’s 2.2% flux, but no mention of the chemical composition of the flux and no MSDS sheet. So, who know what’s in there or how safe it is. That said, it seems to perform well and I’ll be using it for general electronics repair work. I'd like to know if the flux residue needs to be cleaned, etc., and I’d give another star if that information and a MSDS sheet was available.

MISLEADING WAY TO LOW OF SOLDER
Save your money but from another, returning back received very small amount of soldering wow, talk about misleading

It works, not perfect, but does the job, did not feel pure and not easy to take the right shape
The media could not be loaded. I hope the video covers it all.Basically, I solder a lot of SMD and micro soldering all the time on daily basis, I received this solder box which comes in with 2 solder reels; a 1.2mm and an 0.6mm thickness, both are priced at £7 which is quit reasonable and I'd say good value for money.Upon testing using my Microscope; I could see the solder has flux-core which makes it easy to solder than other older products. Although the thickness is still considerably big however it can solder some basic SMD components, however, you need to bare in mind that the quality is not perfect, and the resulting joint is not a mirror-finish but rather a little dusty which means the solder/alloy has some other substances mixed along. Not the easiest to work with at 400c degrees mainly because the the product dries very quickly and does not always get into the desired shape,Removing the solder leaves behind some metallic residue which requires more wiping than usual.Overall, the product works but there is a lot of improvement to be made to hit the high mark.

It's decent lead free solder, but there is not much of it.
I've been using lead free solder for a while now as these days the old stuff really gets on my chest. I've tried a few different brands and some I have found very hard to use, but this is pretty good. It flows quite nicely. My main soldering is making custom audio interconnects and so far I have no complaints with the quality and strength of the joints. It comes in a set of two different thicknesses - 1.2mm and 0.6mm, however the spools don't contain very much of it.

Fair price too
There's not much that one can say about such a product other than it does what its supposed to do at a fair price; this Kaw05 being one such a product. It should last me a fair while, I reckon.

Lead-free and in two useful sizes.
🛠️ This is a lead-free solder, with the metallic constituents comprising 99.3% tin and 0.7% copper. I state it that way because the packaging has the rosin flux core at 2.2%, and this ratio clearly does not add up. You get 1.2mm and 0.6 mm solder in the pack, so it is suitable for most electrical soldering applications. I measured the solder gauge, and the supplied dimensions are accurate enough at a fraction under 0.6mm and 1.2 mm. Close enough.🛠️ I do get through solder quite quickly when I have some projects on, and this supply is a good resource to have and should last me a while. I do prefer the lead version as it is easier to use and more free-flowing, although the inclusion of the rosin core helps this lead-free solder bond to the wire and also tin the soldering iron tip.🛠️ The beads are reasonably strong, and the solder adheres to the wires. I like this solder for tinning wire ends, and the different diameters are suitable for dealing with different wire gauges. The two reels are quite small, and you only get 20g of each. ✔️

Decent lead free solder
The rolls are small so you don't get very much but having two different sizes is useful depending what you're working on. In use it's fine - exactly the same as any other solder really.
