Just does not take k cups.
With the exception of not being kcup, compatible this works great. It's a little slow compared to a plug-in model, but that is acceptable for me, given the portability, included organizer bag, and not having to find an AC outlet.

Works, but confusing and drains battery FAST
Confusing to use. No instructions. I expected the battery to drain because anything with heat will drain a battery. But this took a 2ah battery down to one bar in a couple minutes.

It brews a good cup of coffee
I waited more than a decade for DeWalt to make a K-Cup brewer. Glad someone finally stepped up to the plate. I have two dozen 20V DeWalt tools and accessories along with a dozen batteries. Living in Florida, power outages from storms are not uncommon. I needed a solution and found it with this inexpensive machine. As others have noted, the manual is garbage. It's eight pages, and the last three are blank. Someone forgot to finish it. Reading reviews and product info, I figured it out. NOTE: When the brew button is blinking red it's overheated. Press the button to power down and wait "at least" five minutes to brew again. I was almost ready to return it before I figure that out. I brewed three successive cups, waiting 8-10 minutes between cycles. No problem. The first 6oz brew out of a K-Cup was piping hot and full bodied. Very enjoyable. I tried a second brew with the same K-Cup and got brown water, recalling that the first 4-5oz out of a K-Cup is like high strength espresso. Everything after that is brown water, that generally mixes together in your 8 or 10oz mug, making for an enjoyable medium roast. So, unless you reserve your first 6oz. brew and mix it with the second 6oz. brew - 12 minutes later (it takes 4 minutes) to brew) it's best to use a new K-Cup for each brew. I have 5Ah, 4Ah & 2Ah batteries. I brewed a cup with a 2Ah and still had one bar on the gauge. I don't think it could brew two cups. The 4Ah battery did two brews + 2 initial purge cycles and still had one bar. I'm certain I can get three full brews out of the 4Ah. Better than I expected. Sure, it only brews 6oz, but it's 6oz of strong coffee - like a light espresso. You only need two or maybe three for a real jolt. You can bring out your big mug again when the power comes back on. It's lightweight and easy to pack & carry. Glad I can have coffee again when I lose power.

This will only work one time before it drains your desalt battery
Had three dewalt fully charged batteries on hand and it used them all! Bought this to take on an outdoor trip to be able to make about 20 oz to put in an insulated to go coffee cup. Used a coffee pod amount of coffee- figured would need about 3 brews to fill up the to go cup. Every brew drained a battery. I would NOT recommend. The coffee is really strong and takes too much battery power!

Very portable
I’ve used this coffee pot with the K cup style coffee pods. Very neat. I am able to take it to work and use on the job site and make coffee whenever I want. So far it is working great. This is also extending the life of my batteries so that they get discharged and charged on a more normal basis. Coffee pot is pretty neat, I really like it.
