Exactly what I was looking for
I had been looking for a messenger bag that is bigger than a purse but smaller than a computer messenger bag. I was needing a bag like this to hold my 11” tablet, wallet, electronic chargers, meds, earbuds and everything else when I travel. This was perfect for me. It’s nylon and waterproof, definitely seems durable. It has 3 zippered pockets, 2 non-zippered pockets inside and 2 small side pockets outside.

Compact size, solid build quality, affordable
I ordered the Barsine messenger bag, fully aware that it is small compared to the half-dozen, or so other messenger bags that seem to have followed me home over the years. The truth is, I do prefer the storage capacity of my more traditionally sized bags, but the size of this bag looked like a nice option for any situation where I don’t need to carry my usual load. It turned out to be just right for carrying a 9.5 x 11 spiral binder, a Logitech Bluetooth keyboard and a Samsung tablet, a trio of tools I often use for writing, when away from my computer. The material used for the exterior of the bag appears to be some sort of vinyl, with a slightly velvet-like feel. Strangely, it feels both a bit soft to the touch and durable. One also gets the impression that the material will have no trouble shedding water. There is also, however, a budget feel to the material that makes one think “plastic.”It’s in the overall design, and the features and usability the designers offered up in this bag, though, that I was a little disappointed. First, the shoulder strap doesn’t offer a shoulder pad. But, while that seemed like a negative to me at first, I don’t think it’s a major omission, as the smaller bag will likely not be hauling as much weight to bear down on the user’s shoulder.Looking inside the bag, I’d really like to have found a divider, or large pouch, to help separate the contents. No luck; there is no divider. The bag does provide pockets, however. Unfortunately, their usefulness is, well, limited. Maybe you will have lots of applications for the several small, flat pockets that don’t have flaps to help hold contents in place, but I’m still trying to come up with more than one or two. There are some more useful pockets, which have zippers. Maybe a cell phone, a small tablet a picture of your dog… yeah, these are a good feature. The little open pockets hanging off the outside of each end of the bag are probably the best place to put anything you don’t mind losing.I have to say, given that this bag is priced about the same as the current price of a meal for two at a fast-food drive-through, I suppose the value is not all that bad.So, I’ve had mixed feelings about the bag. My appreciation increased as soon as I found it to be an ideal size for my mobile writing kit. With that in mind, I believe that others will find this compact bag just right for applications I haven’t thought of. Given the build quality, compact size and low cost, I’m giving it an approximately 3.7689-star rating, which I suppose I’d better round off to 4 stars.

Picture perfect?
It was really not the size I expected it to be. It was Small. However, it was lightweight and easy to clean though.

Just what I wanted
Far too few messenger bags are cleanable on the outside. I live in a rural area and the bags I had before got really dirty. I look forward to being able to sponge-clean the dirt on the outside of this bag.

Nice smaller sized messenger bag
I had an upcoming work trip and didn't want to haul my usual huge business bag but did need something that looked reasonable and carried my essentials. This seemed to fit the bill. The size was just about perfect - I love it for that. I'm a petite person, so that is also why I like the smaller bag. I like the zip pocket on the front and the one on the back. I do wish the strap had a pad on it and I would have also liked a grab handle along the top. I like the zip closure for the inside main pocket. I was able to put my wallet (pretty large one) in the back outside zip pocket and my phone in the front outside zip pocket (perfect for super easy access!) In the big pocket inside, I had a 13" laptop, two folders for copy sized paper, water bottle, zip bag of snacks, phone charger cord, earbuds in their case, a small portable charger. There is one zip pocket on the inside and I carried a lipstick, folding glasses, a small spray bottle, pen. I may be forgetting a couple of other things, but you can see it holds a fair amount of stuff. There are 2 pockets on the inside that are just completely open and I felt nervous putting anything in those as it would be very easy for things to fall out. It would have been a much better design if they closed somehow (flap and velcro?) There are also two open pockets on each end that seem like they could be good for water bottles, but they are so small, they are almost useless (and also open topped, so easy for things to fall out or be 'lifted' out). I debated a small folding umbrella, but didn't want to risk losing it. The material is a plastic of some sort, but I kind of like it. If the open pockets had closures and the strap had a shoulder pad, this would definitely be a 5-star bag for me. But, I do still like it and plan to get good use out of it.

Excellent for the price
Needed a cheap bag for site visits. This bag is great for fitting a few things including two small binders and a tape measure. I wish there was no zipper on the top.Probably worth another $15 or $20 for sure.

I’m using it for something a little different.
You could say I’m using this completely wrong but then I’d say if it’s lasting for what I’m using it for then it is a great quality bag. It’s actually super nice and if adjusts well to be comfortable but I am using it on a construction sit to keep odds and ends plus my ipad. So far it has held up really well. It bounces around in my truck and is tossed around on the job sites and it still looks good and is still holding up well. If it has lasted this long with me using it then it should hold up extremely well when used as it was intended.
