Working flawlessly
Installed this in my 2003 5.9l, turned up to level 5 on my Smarty, putting down around 800ish torque. It's been in the truck for over 2,000 miles now and it's been the best clutch I've had in this truck by far! I was slightly skeptical about using the hardware that was provided (looked rather cheap and no so Heavy Duty) but, in 2,000 miles, no issues. Granted, I did red Lock Tite every bolt. That's how I've always done my clutches and I've never had a bolt back off.Everything is also very well balanced. With my old clutch (a factory style one) I was getting some heavy vibrations throughout the cab when idling. This new kit (I got the one with the flywheel too) that vibration has been eliminated and the truck idle is much more tolerable. I highly recommend this clutch if you're over the stock torque rating.Engagement is smooth and feels basically like the factory clutch on a factory tune. Love that I can release it quickly and it hooks right up. I will note, like others have mentioned, if you're pulling a heavy trailer and backing up, it does buck a bit if you don't commit to full engagement right away. Pulled a 4 horse gooseneck the other day and backing up a hill was a bit tricky. Not too terrible but, takes getting used to.Overall, it's an excellent clutch for these HD trucks. Even came with a very informative pamphlet with instructions and best practices for breaking it in or if it overheats. Definitely a 5 star product!
