Very differnet but fun
A very different experience from the original but still a very gun game. Do miss the RP element of the original though.

Lots of decent detailed miniatures, game is a little bit easy and simple but might be better with more than 2 players

Great, but...
So many figures to paint, putting them together will take the next month, but much fun. The game itself (search Youtube for play-throughs) seems similar to Descent... the only thing I'm not keen on... The app... the attempt to sell additional pieces / cards / content through micro-purchases... I wouldn't have bought a board game if I wanted to play with my phone... I'm all for innovation, but maybe don't start the experiment with an £80 game?Good, but I don't want an app and I want all of the content I need in one box, with the option of app usage (which I'd never use).

A Sheep in Wolves clothing.
I can't give this zero stars, but I would if I could.Don't be fooled by the GW fanboy 5 star reviews of this. If you take the time to read them you will notice all they mention is the figures and the quality of the print in the rulebook. One reviewer even admits to basing their review just on the quality of the miniatures. If you have any sense you won't be basing you choice purely on the cosmetics of an item such as this. The term style over content jumps to mind.My gaming group have been rocking through a solid selection of amazing board games over the last few months like Battlestar Gallactica, 7 Wonders, Gears of War, Star Wars Imperial Assault to name just a few. So we are quite open to trying new games. The problem for us was that we have become used to playing extremely fun and well designed game systems in that time. This came along and really didn't match up to the level of quality we had become accustomed to.For a group of gamers who love co op board games this proved to be extremely dull and time consuming and after a couple of attempts left us with no one having any actual fun (whole point of playing a game!) This felt like playing a game designed a few decades ago, and not a good one to boot. Todays board games have all sorts of very interesting rule dynamics which are very simple but result in great strategies coming about. Silver Tower has none of this being more a dull routine of checking various results. Most importantly this game system from our opinion seemed geared to nothing more than trying to sell us more miniatures add ons.Bottom line is this is very expensive for what it consists of, and that is not much. There are plenty of other games out there that have high production values like this, but are cheaper and are backed with fantastic and fun rules. In the current climate of top game design it just feels like there is absolutely no place for this product.
