Just as nice as a brand name

Most important feature - this has CORK LINED BOTTOM - so when guests slide it across your delicate quartzite or antique wood - no scratches. CRAZY ABSORBENT - it's the only coaster I'll use. Plus that sandstone look goes great at a beach house! I've had sandstone coasters before -still going strong after 15-20 years. Great return on investment while absorbing condensation from glasses or wet glass bottoms

These coasters are great. They are very attractive. Each has a little different coloration and striations. I really like them.Two things where I think the manufacturer could have done better and would provide better value - a holder and the cork on the bottom of the coasters. Many of these types of coasters have holders so that you can keep them orderly. These coasters did not come with any type of holder.The other issue I have with them is the cork, or perhaps its faux cork, on the bottom of the coasters. The cork is thin and its hard, so when you are moving the coaster along a table by sliding it, it sounds like the table is being scratched. It isn't and the cork protects the table but I am constantly worrying that the sandstone of the coasters could scratch the surface of the table.Also, the sandstone is unsealed so it will absorb liquids that come into contact with the surface. So, for condensation from a glass or water, they won't stain but over time will probably darken and some light staining of the surface may occur. If wine or coffee or some other type of liquid is spilled on the surface, the surface could very well be permanently stained.

These are beautiful and absorbent. Would totally recommend.

These coasters absorb like only natural sandstone can. I don’t have any problems with glass sweat running off the coaster or with my glass sticking to the wet coaster. Each coaster looks slightly different due to the natural variations in sandstone but that just makes them all the better in my opinion. And this price for 8 true sandstone coasters is a great deal. I haven’t had a problem with staining so far but I’m sure I will at some point. In the past I’ve mixed Dawn with hydrogen peroxide to clean sandstone with great results.
