Originally I just wanted two cheap bar magnets with N-S labels on them for educational purposes, but the cheapest ones were only about half the price of this set which has more magnets and other inexpensive bits needed to demonstrate more things. Many sellers charge the same price for just two bar magnets (though the magnets are probably stronger).Basically this set is super cheap and all the instructions are in Chinese, but the fact is that it some sort of fancy high-quality stuff is really not necessary to demonstrate some simple stuff about magnets. The only real quality issues would be durability of some parts which is fine for home use but probably wouldn't hold up too well in a school environment with lots of kids.They managed to include just about everything needed to demonstrate most of the simple things about magnets including some iron filings.Luckily all of this random stuff does come with a plastic box.I think the only major quality thing I notice is that the magnets seem a bit weaker than average, but they're still strong enough to do what's required for demonstration.

This kit doesn’t have strong magnet. My kids were so excited to have this but they got disappointed after having this. Not happy with the product.

Magnets should be stronger in my opinion.

Used for science experiments. My students had a great time using them and the experiments were completed as expected.

I bought these magnets for classroom demonstrations. I was somewhat disappointed because they are VERY weak. When I demonstrate magnetic repulsion, I have to place the magnets on a slick surface; otherwise they don't have enough flux to push themselves apart.

Disappointed because the instructions are written in Chinese.

Within one day of them being used by 2 8 year olds and a 4 year old they are chipped. Also fairly weak magnetic field... that is a feature in for educational magnets not a bug, but surprising to adults who are used to snappier magnets as part of devices as basic as charging cables.

It has plenty of great magnets, BUT there are a few things that were difficult to understand just by looking at the pieces. The biggest problem was there were no English directions!!
