Great flow rate, but rattles alot due to missing a rubber washer!
This circulation pump came recommended to me by the seller as I needed to increase the flow rate of my Juwel Bioflow 3.0 as there was lots of dead spots and the water was getting cloudy due to the low flow.I added this pump in, first thing I noticed was how quiet it was after getting the air out of the impeller, it's no louder than the Bioflow which is also dead silent. The second, my fish seemed a lot more active minutes after adding this pump and still are now! The third, the water is now crystal clear with no dead spots and actually smells a lot better meaning the water is now being directed back to my filter much much better than before and this is only after 4 hours of adding this circulation pump in, I'm really impressed!I will update this review a few months in as I've only had it fitted 4 hours at the time of posting this review, so far I highly recommend this product for it's high flow rate and quietness. Every tank with a reduced flow rate should defiantly have one of these!**EDIT**Unfortunately the next day the item has been rattling like crazy, upon lots of research there is meant to be a rubber washer on the impeller which isn't always included in the package! This is common and well known by Hydor and lots of people who have purchased this product, I'm now getting in contact with the seller to try and get hold of this and if that fails I'll get onto Hydor - If you're having the same problem I advise to get in contact and try and get hold of this washer.

Blown me [and the fish] away
UPDATE: Wasn't too sure this was right for my 146L tank but now I've had it running for a few weeks it has proved to be an excellent addition to the tank. The fish become far more active when the wave pump is running. It's super quiet too. The tank generally seems to be healthier and the gentle wave created not only helps in breaking the surface tension of the water and subsequently introducing oxygen but it also enhances the ascetics of the tank by gently moving of the plants. It's great watching the fish playing in the water flume; they swim against it and then let it blow them across the tank or come from under the wave maker and just drift up into the flume and again get pushed cross the tank. just like kids really!!

Excellent pump
I think the pump is excellent, it’s just the right balance between small size and power output. I use this in my heavily planted 240ltr tank, to circulate CO2 and ferts around the tank, for better distribution. It does this beautifully and silently. My one concern would be the protective grill, small fish and shrimps can easily be sucked in. However, this is a fault with most of the devices of this style.I can’t comment on longevity, however thepump was highly recommended and I can see why.

Silent, good flow, slightly short power cord
Arrived in perfect working order.I have installed in a nano (35L) reef tank and the output is perfect for this size of tank. No noticeable noise at all, and magnet/suction combined mount has left me confident that it isn't going to go anywhere. Not a negative again the product itself but careful positioning is required in very small tanks. MY 35L is at the low end of what it is designed for, but when I first placed it I had it positioned poorly and it blew my clove polyps right off the rocks. Just something to consider before installing incase you have something less forgiving than polyps.Only downside has been the relatively short power cord as mentioned in lots of other reviews. It works for my set up because I have the tank on a low table and the outlet isn't far away, but I can see that it would be a real problem for others, although easily rectified with an extension lead.

Cheap and silent
Excellent circulation pump, and absolutely silent IF fitted correctly. Those who say it makes a vibrating noise - mine did too, but this was caused by air trapped inside the rubber sucker on the inside of the tank. Remove the sucker from the inside of the tank to release the air, re-apply, and the noise stopped. Also ensure that you remove any debris - just like a filter, when the rotating parts become dirty they work less efficiently and less quietly.I've had two of these - bought one several years ago and sold it with a previous tank. Bought a new one for a new tank, as they're so good! Magnetic sucker on the outside makes it easy to move, and it's easy to rotate in (within reason) pretty much any possible direction.Provides good flow - I bought one to distribute CO2 bubbles around my 90L planted tank, and does the job nicely.

Short cable lets it down
The mounting for this is strong and the powerhead is silent when running. The output seems weaker than the equivalent output from a canister filter. I nearly bought the 900 but went for the 1600. The output is nowhere near as strong as my 1200lph filter output. Do go bigger than you think that you need. The cable is laughably short making it hard/impossible to set up a drip loop. Had the cable been a few foot longer, this would have been five stars

Looks nice but fails at it's only job.
So got this for use in my planted 200l tank to remove a dead spot in the tank. While it's not powerful it gives a nice decent flow across the tank and looks a nice bit of kitBut.....After anything between 1 hour and 2 days it develops a nasty vibration which I have found to be caused by air becoming trapped within the area where the magnet is housed. If I disassemble it and release the air it's silent again. Tried lots of different things including having it pointing as far up as the mount will allow but doesn't help and air still gets trapped. There seems to be a fundamental design flaw with it and as I'm bored now with having to take it apart every day I've taken it out and will probably throw it in the bin.Definitely an over hyped brand especially as when you Google this problem, people are having modify even the really expensive versions to try and fix the issue.Wouldn't recommend this pump and I personally won't use hydor products again as function doesn't follow form so not fit for purpose.
