Elsinore Herring In Dill 275g

This herring has a nice light taste with a hint of dill. Not at all too fishy, like some other brands. My husband and I love this as a light snack or as an appetizer for our guests.

I didn' like how it tastes and the liquid that it was preserved in it was so sweet and I don't like the taste of sweet and salt in the food.

Usually, when I buy pickled herring, the pieces are larger. I pierce them with a fork. This product had few chunks and had to be dipped with a spoon. On the other hand, they are delicious. I will buy again and give the distributor another chance, considering there has to be some variance in packing.

wasn't bad, i ate it but wasn't the best

There are just a few pieces of herring floating in the likvid. Postage is very high and it come late and warm.I do not understand how they can put such high price on such lousy product?!

I eat herring daily on danish rye bread and wanted to try different brands. The Elsinore Herring had a good flavor, but the pieces were very small. I have been looking for a US supplier that offers marinaded herring in full size and the only products I can find have small pieces and a lot of onions in the glass. The Elsinore Herring had the right amount of onions and dill, but the pieces were too small, but the flavor was better than any other brands I could find in the US. I also think the price for such a small glass of herring was on the high side. If Amazon has access to larger size herrings I would buy the herrings on a weekly basis.

Thin fish with thick skin. Not "ready to serve" - it's one single chunk of fish that's unchopped.
