I have worked many jigsaw puzzles, but I have never had one like this. Many of the pieces were not completely cut into. The frame pieces have to be forced together, the center part comes apart of you barely touch it. I have always loved Springbok puzzles, but this one is a dud. I am considering a return on this one!

I liked the picture on this puzzle but was very disappointed with the quality of the puzzle pieces. It seems like the puzzle was cut with a blunt cutting tool because the puzzle edges were not crisply cut and it was difficult to push the pieces together. Puzzle pieces should "click" together. These required squishing together.

Clearly they were using a dull knife when they cut this puzzle. It's usable, but the quality is not great. Maybe it's only worth 2 stars, but I give the benefit of doubt. Return it if you don't like the quality (free returns).

Quick summary:I love Springbok puzzles and I thoroughly enjoyed this 1000-piece Springbok's "Whale Watch Inn" puzzle! It was both challenging and fun, and I love the image and theme of this puzzle! Great red pick-up!I've been a huge fan of Springbok puzzles for years! Their puzzles are high quality and made in the USA! I get to help support US jobs and have fun doing it! Excellent!On with my review of Springbok's 1000 Piece Jigsaw Puzzle Whale Watch Inn –The puzzle pieces were packed inside a plastic bag inside the box and the box was also wrapped in plastic. There isn't a poster of the finished puzzle so you will definitely want to keep the box lid available to consult the image as you work. The image on the lid is large, clear and there are no obstructions, so the lack of a poster is truly not an issue as far as I'm concerned.Here are my thoughts and observations:Made in the USA! Perfect!Great image quality!Makes a great gift!I appreciate the use of recycled materials and non-toxic inks.Minimal puzzle dust!No missing pieces! (I've never experienced missing pieces with any Springbok puzzle!)No bent, broken, or peeling pieces!All pieces are consistent in thickness.Pieces are thick and sturdy, each with a unique shape!Various shapes and sizes help make this 1000-piece puzzle more challenging, which I love!The pieces are cleanly and precisely cut.Also, what appears to be an edge piece may not be! But this adds to the fun, and makes it more challenging! Just consult the image on the box cover, and keep a "maybe, maybe not" pile of questionable pieces or if you are in doubt. But don't give up! You can do it! 😉👍🏻 The edge pieces end up making a nice straight line and it's quite satisfying to see how the unique pieces fit together! Plus, it will make you feel like a rockstar! 😎😉Another great thing is that the fit is obvious, no wondering if you've placed a piece in the wrong location! The pieces fit and lock together without question.In summary, I really enjoyed the theme of this "Whale Watch Inn" puzzle and will definitely continue to purchase Springbok puzzles for myself and as gifts! I do puzzles on a regular basis. This puzzle came in a sturdy box that is giftable. There was a small amount of puzzle dust. There were some pieces stuck together that I had to take apart.The pieces/edges are smooth and the cardboard material is sturdy. The image is colorful and has a typical sheen finish. The finished puzzle is 30" x 24". I find a common 1000 piece puzzle size is 27x20 so these pieces are larger than what I'd consider average.The pieces fit together nicely. They are slightly loose and could be tighter in my opinion. You can work on an image from the puzzle off to the side, then carefully pick it up and move it to it's place without it totally falling apart, but a couple may come out and have to be reassembled.The puzzle pieces are a variety of shapes and sizes which I like. The listing says each puzzle piece is unique and never repeated and that seems to be accurate. We found the puzzle easy and fun to piece together.I like that it says, "Springbok Puzzles are manufactured with sustainably sourced organic, non-toxic soy-based inks & utilizes 100% recycled puzzle board materials".Overall, I like this puzzle and think for $19.95 it is average or better priced, especially for being Made in the USA and using responsible materials .

Took a while but the puzzle is done!I liked the Whale Watch House picture of the Springbok puzzle; it really is a pretty puzzle.The puzzle is s a great size, measuring an overall size 24" x 30". It fitted perfectly on my puzzle work surface.The Springbok puzzle had much larger pieces than I was used to, ranging from 1" x 1" to approximately 1.5" x 2". There were a lot of unique, irregular shapes that connect together at various angles (unlike other typical puzzles) which made it interesting and challenging to fit together, great for people who like challenging puzzles.I did find that the puzzle material to be not as nice as other premium puzzles; the pieces seem to be made of a cheaper cardboard backing. Also the Springbok puzzle pieces' edges were not very cleanly cut with some fuzziness along some of the edges.Overall, I did like the puzzle and enjoyed watching it slowly evolve to completion.

Unfortunately we bought this puzzle 3 months ago so it's too late to return it. The pieces are cut so poorly it is difficult to put them together. We are throwing this one out and will stick with White Mountain from now on.
