These are horrible immitations. They are glass with a slight coating of whatever is used for filing. After a couple of uses, that ruff surface is gone. Don't waste your money. I have four left and will probably just throw them away! Look further and get BONA FIDE BEAUTY. They last forever.

These files are not etched. The grit is instead a coating on the outside which means it will wear off with use. Etched glass files will last forever (as long as you don't break them) so they are infinitely better. If you hear people raving about glass files then try these you won't actually understand the passion. Legit etched glass is the best. I do not recommend this product. (I've had good luck with Mont Bleu files.)
