It Really Works
Yes, this is a real metal detector. I know it's hard to believe. It's not great by any means but will keep the kids entertained. Cute colorway and makes a great gift for little explorers.

Good price for a unique children’s gift
Whenever I went to the beach as a kid I would always see adults with metal detectors and thought they were so cool. This is a low tech version of a full size metal detector and it’s sure to be a fun toy for any kids who live near old battlegrounds, Native American settlements, or natural bodies of water. This detector should be able to pick up the locations of civil war items, metal arrowheads, jewelry and coins. It feels flimsy but for the low price you’re paying for the metal detecting capability and not for long lasting construction. This is a nice addition to my kids’ other outdoor exploration toys.
