I have been using this ballast for a while I have a fan blowing on it because it does get kind of hot with out the fanbut it does what it needs to do

I bought this ballast as part of a package that included a Phillips bulb and bat wing reflector. In the 5 or so years I had it, I had two prism ballasts and 4 Phillips bulbs die on me. Only one bulb lasted a whole year. They were very good about sending replacements on products under warranty and they are very helpful. But……in my opinion this technology is not good at all. I had an hps light and the bulbs never died within a year and the ballast never died.I highly recommend skipping the the cmh light and going straight to LED. If you are still not sold on LED, get an HPS.

I have 3 years on 12 of these,haven’t had any problems,would recommend to anyone looking for a good low cost cmh ballast

It lights a phillips bulb just fine when it works, but burned out the bulb within 2 weeks. Bought two more bulbs before figuring out it was the ballast. Return process is slow. The has to be better options than this.I wonder how many fail.

My first prism ballast lasted 7 years of constant use I'm sure this one will last just as long paid $120 for it it was $200 at my local gro shop
