Pretty good gate
Very sturdy and easy to install. Toddler and dog proof.Opening the gate latch can be difficult if you have long nails or weak hand grip. Would not recommend for either of these situations.

Too difficult!
I have several baby gates that are great except they all have a bar at the bottom so my roomba can't get around. I purchased this due to no bar. This thing is darn near impossible to open/close. We can't stand it! Do not purchase if you actually want to be able to get in and out of the area you put it in. It takes 2 hands and is a struggle!

So much better than pressure mount
Two dogs and a tiny human on the way, we decided to upgrade from a pressure-mounted gate at the stairs to our basement. This is a major upgrade, feels really solid, metal, would definitely recommend for a location that needs a permanent/longer term fixture. I see a few complaints about it being really hard to build and just...no. It's fine. Takes a little time and you'll want a drill for the wall screws, but the instructions are easy enough, it includes a template so you can drill without even measuring. Really not bad at all. After a few weeks I will say, opening isn't bad but it's not that easy to close one handed, at least with the bi-directional swing install option. Optional stoppers keep it from going the other way if you want, without that you have to kinda find the right spot to drop it into the latch. I like being able to swing it both directions for it's worth the hassle for me. Also I'm super tall and usually just step over it. (You'd have to be about 6'4" for that to be an easy option.) Not a deal breaker, def still recommend it.

Amazing adjustablity!
This gate is great for permanent installation! We have some funky dimensions with the railing at the top of our stairs, but this gate was able to both span the unusually wide distance and accommodate a different gap spacing at the top and the bottom of the gate! This gate is phenomenally easy to close and is easy enough to open with one hand but the opening mechanism is near impossible for our children. We would definitely buy another one if our hallway dimensions weren't so constrained that opening the gate would cover the hallway doors. Not the fault of the gate design just the fault of our house design π

Good safe gate - not easy/fast to put together
Installation was done by my boyfriend and heβs usually great with puzzles and instructions but this one seemed to frustrate him just a little and he had to do it over the course of a few days bc it was a bit noisy and the location is next/close to the room where we put baby to sleep. Suggest purchasing and installing prior to baby arriving. Also, gets some getting used to but Iβve hyperextended my thumb a couple painful times trying to unlock/open it. Once you figure it out and realize the right about of thumb force needed to pull/open it, it is a great stair blocker. Daughter is starting to hang on it though sometimes which obviously we stop her but itβs held up about 6 months so far. We have a dog too.
