Back in August I ordered a Spartan Army Book cover from you through Amazon and on the note you sent with it, you asked for my feedback. I have been very busy, but did not forget.The book cover is hand down one of the most durable and functional field book covers that I have found/used. Being able to have pens/pencils stored on the outside of the cover allows me to open it and write on the left page. Writing utensils stored on the inside of the cover make writing on the left page impractical and difficult because the stored writing instruments come in contact with the notebook pages. I have effectively retired my Rite in the Rain NB cover now that I have this cover.Also, the design does an outstanding job protecting the notebook itself. I can throw it in my pack and not worry about the notebook getting battered. The combination of the zippered pocket on the back and the inside sleeves that hold the notebook in place are excellent for grid squares, receipts, and note cards.The only modification that I made to the cover was to remove the zipper pull on the rear pocket and insert 550 cord through the zipper opening. This was to reduce the risk of it getting snagged and to improve stability/noise when the book was placed on a writing surface.I appreciate that you put so much thought and detail into the creation of this product and anticipate using it for years.

I've used log book covers in the army before. I'm in the civilian world now, a lot of stuff is digital. In my experience, nothing is better than having a logbook you can flip open and have information right then and there.These covers are great. They last a long time. I work in the medical field so being able to pull the book out and sanitize the cover is a huge benefit. I bought two a couple years ago when I had to keep up with a number of people's training on the fly. They are still rocking and showing no signs of wear.I now give these as promotion gifts for people in my section. Everyone loves them.They show a phone on the center strap. It's a bit loose. So I wouldn't put anything important there.

I recently ordered another Spartan notebook cover and received it a couple of days ago. This is the second one that I ordered. The first was excellent. Made of a thick nylon and fit snugly and just right for my leaderbook(s). This second one I ordered as a gift since so many others remarked that they liked the look and feel of my first. On the plus side, this order came with a personalized note thanking me for the repeat business. There is now an additional strap with Velcro across the pen/pencil holders. I think this is to help trap a cell phone, but it fits too loose to do this effectively. It otherwise includes the same features as my original. On the negative side, this version is made of a lighter weight, obviously less durable nylon. It is also noticeably bigger. It is taller by 3/4" at least and the green notebook doesn't fit nearly as snugly as the original did. I like these covers. Don't get me wrong, I just think they did it right the first time and didn't need to try and improve it by adding useless straps or by switching to lighter material. I prefer my original, so I'm giving 3 stars. I'd give 3 1/2 if I could though.

This is a very well made product. Durable item that I expect would last for many many years. The pen pockets are not large and you shouldn't expect to place thick pens in them but something about as round as a map pen will likely be the maximum girth. I placed five pens in the pockets and found that the cover was much stiffer and difficult to close. As this is a new product, I do expect that the material will "give" a little over time.My only recommendation to improve this product would be to reverse the closure to velcro from back to front and sacrifice two of the pen pockets as the velcro tab has a loop that could reasonably hold a pen well.Overall a great product and very happy with my purchase.One final note: The seller left a personal note which was stapled to my receipt which was appreciated.

I am currently deployed to Afghanistan. The environment here is pretty rough and my field books get beat up pretty good. I examined many covers but they were all too bulky with various flaps and pockets. Or they were simply just a cover with no convenient way to hold a writing utensil of some sort.The Spartan Army Book Cover was what I was looking for. A simple, yet rugged, book cover that had a place to put several pens/pencils/markers. I find the single zippered pocket on the back useful. And I like the Zelco closure and Velcro strip for my nametape.There is one thing that I would like to see on this cover. A canvas/fabric bookmark sewn into the top center of the cover would make it easy to mark the current page being used in the field book. Perhaps consider adding that to next generation models.I plan to order a couple more of these covers in the near future. I have several field books going at the same time.

Quality build and would recommend to those who use green monsters. Gets the job done and may turn heads along the way.

The green NSN listed books fit perfect in here. The zippered pocket on the back is great for business cards or other small items. It's also surprisingly roomy. I've put my iphone with bulky case in there and it fits no problem. There is an extra strip of Velcro about halfway down the front that wasn't in the product pictures but it's a welcome surprise. The flap that wraps the book closed is nice for keeping additional loose papers secure. Overall the construction is excellent and I'm sure it'll last for years. Only critique, and it's minor, is I wish the pockets that hold the front and back cover were a little deeper so that the seam was closer toward the spine so that it doesn't interfere with the middle of the pages when writing. Again, that's nit picking. Still a 5 star, quality product.
