The Pool House
Jen and her husband Nat are invited to spend summer in the Hamptons with a group of new friends. Jem soon finds out that they are taking the place of Alice, a woman who mysteriously drowned in the pool. The other housemates try to tell her that Alices death was an accident but they all have something to hide. This was a good storyline and was easy to follow. We go back and forwards from Jens summer to Alices summer in the Hamptons. I didn’t like many characters because they all through they could do whatever they liked to get what they wanted but I feel the characters had to be like that to make the story work. Lots of good locations and lots of lies and secrets, this book keeps you turning the pages until the end.

The Pool House
I've bought this as an audiobook as I like to listen to them when driving. This is the first book of Perry's that I've ventured into. It's an interesting story, so far, I'm halfway through the audiobook. I can't say I'm completely gripped. I'm losing the identity of some of the secondary characters a little but that might just be through using the audiobook. The writing is lovely with clear descriptions and that keeps me engaged. The narration itself is not the best. The lady narrating it is VERY English. While the main character is English, the put on American accents was not very good and it was a little offputting. The way she says some of the male characters dialogue is odd, it's in a deeper voice obviously but it's affecting the writing of the book by being drawn out and made to sound a little funny. Christie Romano would have been a better narrator - her English accent for Noah Shaw in the Mara Dyer Series was addictive. Loved it.I think I know what is going to happen at the end of this book. I like it, but it's mainly a form of background noise for me, to fill in quiet time. I like the writing but I think I can tell someone was involved in Alice's death. I wouldn't say it was particularly chilling. The first 2 hours of the audiobook was more building Jem's world and meeting housemates etc not much happened.Overall, not a bad listen, shame about the narrator as I think it would've been more enjoyable as a physical book. Nevertheless, will listen to the end as it's intriguing.

A brilliant storyline. I couldn’t wait to turn the pages
I was hooked from the start by the first couple of chapters alone. A brilliant storyline. I couldn’t wait to turn the pages, see what else had been thrown into the mix to confuse me and keep me guessing....which I did until the very end.Really well written, fast paced with chapters that give you that “Just one more chapter” mentality.A wonderful book that the author has done well to put together, the flowing writing keeping the reader held within its pages.Highly recommend this one.

Excellent Summer Page Turner
A good page turning summer read. The young English wife who travels to NY with her social climbing husband who out of boredom, obtains a job with a Hamptons fiction crime writer and between the two of them take it on themselves to investigate an accident from the previous summer uncovering scandals along the way. A page Turner that holds your attention to the eve last page.

Edit please!
I really enjoyed this book but I do wish there was better editing - in almost every chapter someone 'puffed out their cheeks'I am not sure what this means or why everyone is doing this but after a few chapters it becomes irritating. It is quite commonthese days that no-one has checked for basic English errors or repetition. Enough to make you want to 'puff out your cheeks'!

Very good read!
I’ve read a few Tasmin Perry books over the years and this one did not disappoint. I have had my face in my kindle for days, grabbing 5 mins here and there to keep reading. Right until that last second, I hadn’t clocked ‘whodunnit’ and I still didn’t see it coming!Looking forward to reading my next Perry book already. I’ve got a few to catch up on!

Tedious
The sub heading sums up this book - one person dies and a few lies are told. That's it really apart from dull and plodding relationship stuff and descriptions of food. Oh so many food descriptions...oh and some gross sex stuff. Nothing interesting happens in this book and it happens to vile two dimensional characters who you wish dead on every turn of the page.

I really liked this book.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading The Pool House. This fiction book has a bit of romance and mystery. I love reading books that go back and forth in time and where the stories are told by different characters. I liked it so much that the next book I get will be another one by Tasmina Perry.
