I have only colored my grays a few times, but decided to try this. Its starts out somewhat gray and I mixed it with a plastic spoon. It sort of foams to a brown, about 20% of the starting water level. I didn't want to eliminate all my gray, so I just applied it using gloves to the areas I wanted black. I left it in a little longer, but its clear 15 minutes works . This stuff is foamy and sticky, so good control for where it goes. It didn't stain my skin, but I used to gloves to avoid mechanic's hands. Hair feels normal and not course. Scalp isn't itchy or showing stain. Because this is a powder in a tiny container, (smaller than chewing gum) it should keep without any spill risks. Doubt I can say it could be better, except including a small mixing and applicator brush. Most of the package is taken up by a graduated mixing container. I slowly rinsed out over a bucket and dyed a pair of jeans. Its worked better than any other product. After an hour, I have black Levi's again, which had bleach damage.

I've been using Bigen for 15 years now. I've never had a problem. It's the perfect dye for me because I'm allergic to Ammonia and every box dye uses it. Even a lot of professional salon dyes have ammonia. Henna doesn't work for me, too messy and unpredictable because its "all natural".Oriental Black is the truest black hair dye out their, it covered grays completely, no blueish poking through. It also isn't as harsh on skin.I'll always recommend Bigen.

The color is deep and thorough. It's the only hair dye that lasts in my hair. The strange thing and the reason why I rated this purchase 4 stars is, I usually only need 1 box to color my hair, this time I needed 3 boxes. I had to send our to the store to finish my entire head.

I’ve been using Bigen for 25 years now. Yup, even way back in college as my hair started turning grey early for me. In my opinion, the best time to apply is at least one day from the last time you’ve washed your hair. There’s some natural oil from the scalp that protects you more from staining especially if you sport short hair like a buzz cut. The color still sticks. About 5 mins after applying, I rinse off and shampoo. Looks natural and no stains on the scalp. Also it does have just a slight but not unpleasant smell after dyeing. It goes away after a day.

Like putting chemical effluence on your Barnet....not recommended

I live the hair for about 1 hr with the color and it barely black ! NOT HAPPY, ITS TOO EXPENSIVE AND NOT WORKING WELL

Good, non-messy product. Easy to take on travels. Does not spoil quality of hair - especially for fine, thin hair.
