Great book
This book provides a point of view from the patient as well as the therapist since she is both. Great read with good insight.

Must have for bariatric patients!! Covers all the bases!
This author hits the nail on the head. Finally a book that actually focuses on the PSYCHOLOGY!! Finally! I've struggled with emotional eating and tried everything before surgery so weight loss surgery was a godsend for me. However, no one really told me what would happen to me after the surgery. I knew how I had to eat, but never knew how to handle my emotions. That was the part that really needed the most work. She really hits home with emotional eating and the struggles that many of us have after surgery. My RNY changed the size of my stomach, but it most definitely did not fix my brain. The author shares key points on how to change the "old fat brain" so that I know how to handle it when food triggers hit and to help me stay on track. She did an excellent job in giving applicable tactics that I have started to use. I am recommending this to a few of my friends in my local support group too. It is evident that the author really understands the issues and struggles that bariatric patients face after surgery including the relationship issues that come up. This is a complete book that covers so many of the issues. Thank you for writing it!! I think it is a must have for all bariatric patients!

Very Helpful
I really enjoyed reading this book. It was an easy read and very informative. I enjoyed learning about the many tools and strategies to help me be more successful on my journey of weight loss. If this book comes out in print again, in a second edition, I truly hope the editor does a better job with all of the errors and typos in the book. It did make it a little bit choppy to read as I had to discern what the author was trying to say many times throughout the book. The online version should be cleaned up now. I appreciate the resources and groups!

A Valuable Tool For Anyone who has had Bariatric Surgery or is Even Contemplating it!
This is the best book I have seen to-date on the Weight Loss Surgery journey. This journey is so much about the mindset, the emotions, and what we are actually feeding (rarely is it physical hunger). Weight Loss Surgery gives us just one tool that we'll need, and we'll work harder than we ever have to use the tool successfully. The difference is, our hard work will yield consistent and lasting results. Another crucial tool we need is discovering what brought us to the point where we are willing to have weight loss surgery and that is what "Bariatric Mindset Success" offers. Kristin Lloyd is a successful psychologist and life coach, but more importantly, she has been there. She once weighed over 400 lbs, and took that leap of faith to have the surgery a number of years ago. Through her own journey of reflection and self-awareness and cognitive techniques, she is a successful weight loss surgery person, and she is caring and compassionate enough to share her knowledge, her empathy and her understanding to all of us who are on this journey, or who are contemplating it. I first got this book on Kindle, and loved it so much that I bought the hard copy as well. It's a crucial tool that goes with my sleeved stomach, and will help me be another success story.

Best Book On The Subject
This is the best book on the subject that I have read so far. Recommend for anyone losing weight, not just by surgery.

3½ Stars, I can See Both Sides of the Scale Now.
I agree with both types of reviews here. It is poorly written, and riddled with annoying grammatical mistakes. She does tend towards repetition, but this is information most of us need drilled in our heads! The book is helping me face my lifelong food addiction, BEFORE I get surgery. I am reading this with a book group, and there are plenty of topics for us to cover. Lots of questions to answer regarding how you got where you are, what it was like and how to become free. Free of the burden of food addiction, of the traumatic experiences that most of us have had that amplified our pain. It's a helpful read. It's just sad to see the careless typos and weird word choices. I will be continuing to work through this book, and the work book as well. Overall a strong 3½ stars.

The kind of book I was looking for
So I have been looking for a type of book where someone has already gone through this surgery...I got way more than that in this book and it is 100% relatable. It made me feel more confident in my decision to have surgery...and really look at how my life can change and to dream.
