One of my favorite authors for kids books
The books from this author are always so amazing. Each and everyone of his books tells a story with a kind touch of kindness, love, compassion, caring and so on and so froth. In this story all of the forest creatures sing their songs but something happens! The moons disappears and is replaced with a big red circle now covering the whole entire forest, all the little forest creatures wonder what happened to the moon when the hear an owl sing his sad song. They run up to the owl and accuse him of stealing the moon. Than come to find out the owl never stole the moon and it was just a lunar eclipse and the wise old owl tells them not to accuse people of things just because you are scared or are upset and all the little forest creatures apologize and than they all sing together. The illustrations in these books are absolutely beautiful too.

Amazing!
This is another amazing kids book by J.P. Anthony Williams. The story is about animals that thought an owl stole the moon. But things turn out differently. It teaches the kids not to jump into conclusions and not to be quick to judge. I highly recommend this amazing book with its wonderful illustrations and great lessons! 5/5 stars!

Beautiful and Vivid Imagery Creates a Sweet Forest Concert and Lovely Message
3.75 starsI think this was a very cute book with a sweet message. I was originally drawn to the book because of the wonderful illustrations and vivid colors on the book cover. The story of forest animals and the beautiful music they make in the forest was a lovely message and the noises described were cute. I also really liked the illustrations throughout the book.Spoiler below...I did think the message was very "on the nose" about not being judgmental, which I think is an important message for everyone, especially children, but I felt like it could have been worded a little differently, especially since there was a recap at the end of the story. I also didn't feel like Owl was actually the friend of the forest animals from the beginning so it was odd to me that they decided to say, "Let's be friends again with Owl" at the end. Owl was described as a loner and they all looked at him a little like an outsider from the get-go. That is maybe an over-analysis, but since we are being honest here, that is how I feel.I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Perfect for bedtime
We read to our daughters every night, and this was tonight's story. Our 7 year old enjoyed making the animal sounds while my wife read.

The child loves it,
the five-year old keeps it in his bed that says it all.

Vibrancy to AI Illustraions vs a story full of lesson + heart
I like the storyline. I loved the vibrant magical colors. The little creatures of the forest big, small and tiny have a certain whimsy about them. There's lessons to be had about not jumping to conclusions to having an open mind. To enjoying the music of nature. An a Lunar Eclipse! (Apologies are important as well as a take away lesson as well.) Only thing I really couldn't get past is the artwork it felt cut off of emotion and felt retro, fuzzy…. not sure if it's AI generated there was an emoji 💔 that looked pasted onto the owl that could have been better assimilated) but there was a flatness to the illustrations. The heart came thru though yet they didn't feel connected wholeheartedly. The colors popped and kids will love them. But sometimes less is more. Especially aesthetically. There's always room for a sweet story with sweet little faces and kind words. A lesson about friends. Kids will enjoy the extras like the coloring books and the poetry lesson recaps… lots of fun QR codes connect to activities is a nice extra for children to engage further. Definitely a good book to grab if you don't mind the AI feel….there are valuable lessons that both the young and old will benefit from!

good bedtime story
Discover the magic of a world where animals converse under a mysteriously absent moon in "The Owl Who Stole the Moon." This beautifully illustrated tale is both lighthearted and educational, drawing readers into a narrative filled with celestial mysteries and life's profound lessons. The vivid illustrations, paired with a storyline that delicately touches upon the values of friendship, truth, and forgiveness, makes this book a perfect nighttime read.As enchanting as the moonlit night itself, this book promises to ignite imaginations, provoke thoughtful discussions, and most of all, warm the hearts of young readers. Highly recommended for those seeking a creative, joyful, and perfectly pitched bedtime story.
