I bought my electric blanket less than three months ago and after a moderate amount of use, the controller began to melt. I awakened one morning and noticed a strong “burnt plastic” like odor. I picked the controller up and it was hot to the touch. After inspecting it, I noticed that the front control button had melted and actually changed shape! As a retired firefighter, I’ve always been hesitant to use electric blankets because early on in my career, I’ve seen my fair share of these blankets catch fire or cause skin burns. I convinced myself that technology had to have made these blankets safer. Boy, I was wrong.

I have a medical condition that has kept me bed-resting for the past four years. I also tend to run extremely cold, so I needed a durable heating blanket that stayed extremely warm for long stretches of time. This heating blanket certainly fits that description! I love the eight-hour shut-off; so few heating blankets extend beyond a four-hour shut-off, so I really appreciate that this one can last the entire night witout my having to turn it on again. The controls are very tactile, which is important to me because I'm visually-impaired; in the past, I have had to rely on sighted assistance in order to set heating blankets to the correct temperature, but this is one I can use independently. The blanket has two differently-textured sides--a fleecy side and a plush side--and I find the plush side so delightful that I can and often do wrap myself in it for hours. The temperature settings provide a nice range from just barely warm to almost unbearable heat, so this would be a good gift for northern winters. I've been using this heating pad up to eighteen hours a day for a little over a month, and it is still going strong--but just in case, I've purchased another as backup. That's how impressed I am with this heating pad!

I wish I would have bought it sooner. I had alot of sleepless nights being cold. This cover is what I been needed. For 1) it's soft. I can't feel like wires that goes through it that heats the blanket up. 2) you get a Variety of options to keep you warm. From Low to High and everything in-between. 3) it has a timer. So you don't have to worry about leaving it on while out and about. That is a relief because I get worried about accidentally leaving things on. So I give it a 10/10.. It's worth every penny

This blanket is so soft without being big and bulky like what I expected from a heated blanket. It is literally just like a normal blanket.. but fresh out of the dryer. It heats up very quickly which is amazing, but can also turn off / cool down quickly. Best feature is that you can machine wash/dry it without worrying about the heating feature getting ruined. I haven’t had any issues, it works as described and easy to use. Beautiful grey color.
