Very sturdy, but not very "dry" as shipped
Very sturdy, but not very "dry" as shipped. The metal clasp does not -pull- the lid down - barely holds it down, in fact. The gasket is a very thin rubber-ish tape that, given the loose clasp, does not fully meet the top edge of the box, which could explain other customers' complaints about poor water resistance. The tray is somewhat of an afterthought, design-wise, with a sharp-edged handle cut out of the tray divider, but it does serve as an adequate replacement for box-lid storage.I bought this to use and modify for an active dry box for hygroscopic 3D filament. (PVA, Nylon) so I was able to improve the clasp with a printed clip-on sleeve that increased the clamping pressure a bit. I'm testing, now, to see if it can maintain a low humidity interior (without desiccant) while in a high-humidity environment without my having to find a solution for the thin gasket. The box, itself, is a perfect size for a 3D filament dry box - room inside for a large 1kg filament spool, a modest spool holder, and even an Eva-dry desiccant, if desired: Eva-dry E-333 Dehumidifier The stack-able feature is something that seems lost on other box manufacturers, but is a nice feature when you're not just transporting things, but storing them, as well. The wide-grip handle is relatively comfortable for a molded part and appears very sturdy. The lid hinge uses metal pins, so it should last a while and not break when carrying heavy loads. One last thing: The box color is a much brighter orange than is shown in the product picture. Not quite traffic-cone orange, but getting there.Ultimately, I like this box for my intended use. It's very sturdy and has good potential. I'm hoping that it is "dry" enough to maintain a low humidity level in a high-humidity environment.Update: I placed a hygrometer along with a fresh desiccant pack in the closed box (clamp modified as described) and got the RH down to 24%. Removed the desiccant (left the hygrometer) and put the closed box in a 45-50% RH environment for 5 days. The RH in the box, as measured by the hygrometer, was 25% after those 5 days. That makes this a dry box as far as I'm concerned, especially since, in use, I'll have a desiccant pack in there. I did not try this test without the clamp mod. Adding back 1 star (still -1 for having to modify the box.)

Great box after a little work.
I've owned 4 boxes like this (2 short & 2 tall) for about 8 years. When I got them I knew right away that I didn't like the way the latch worked. I thought how can the box be weatherproof like this with a loose lid? After some thinking I came up with a cheap and effective fix. I took some 1/4" O.D. poly tubing that you can get at any hardware store, Lowes, etc. I cut a length 3" long piece and split it length ways and snapped it on the upper part of the metal latch piece. The molded "hooks" in the lid are just right to accept the larger O.D. and the latch snaps shut. That was years and miles ago and all 4 boxes still snap shut like they should. I don't know if I helped the lids seal as I didn't use them till I did this little modification. However, my boxes have all been outside in a hard driving rain and all the contents stayed dry. And no I'm not wild about the skinny foam rubber gasket but it apparently works.I gave this review 4 stars because the latch problem is a design flaw and it hasn't been addressed over the years. Otherwise, excellent box.

Durable for the Price
I was looking for some decent ammo boxes without going military metal style so they would stack in my closet properly. These really seem to do the trick well and I was impressed with the tray inside. I have a problem with the sticker they use on the outside. While it's not a big deal if you only have to remove one or two but I bought 10 of them and they were a pain in the butt to remove.

Neatly carrying folders/binders around on wet days.
I picked this for its square shape and size for neatly carrying folders/binders of standard 8x11 papers on my bicycle, especially on soaking wet days. I also use it to keep my space clothes for the office dry. Despite having to carry it around on its side in the bicycle's grocery panniers, it is holding up well to the wet elements, but I don't have confidence in how long the foam sealing will last. I want something that can last over 5 years...like 30 years. ;) (I should be able to replace the foam sealing with homemade silicone sealing when the time comes.) Overall, I am very pleased with the box's size and shape box for carrying papers, perfectly flat and neat.

Fantastic Filebox
I have several of these that I use as portable file boxes for holding case file folder/documents in my job as a field investigator. They hold standard file folders filled with documents perfectly...haven't been able to find anything better for this use and especially for this price. It totally beats those flimsy plastic file boxes that crack and break easily you find in office supply or discount stores. They also stack nicely at least 3 high when completely stuffed with file folders and documents. Also a 1/4 x 2 round locking pin you can buy for $1 or $2 works perfect to prevent the latch on the box to accidentally open and spill your contents. I highly recommend these dry boxes for this and many other uses. I have them in all 3 sizes and they all work great...

Sturdy enough
I got this for use as a battery box. I have a Dakota 54Ahr LiFePO4 battery and it's too tall for standard battery boxes. This box is the perfect size with room to install binding posts and other items. It's rigid enough but not the kind of plastic that will crack easily - it has a little flex. The handle folds down flat in a recess on top allowing other stuff to be stacked on it if necessary.

Be Prepared If You Want To Remove Product Stickers
I just received delivery of the product so cannot yet report on its advertised features. However, I have expended effort that I believe should not be required to remove affixed product stickers (one with code and product name at a bottom corner, another extending the width of one side). The larger sticker was removed by peeling and using soap and water; the smaller sticker (located in a lower corner) required application of Goo-Gone, an implement to scrape off most of marring residue that could be removed, and more effort.Be prepared if caring to remove product stickers.

Can be better, but great nonetheless.
Besides scratches (outside and inside) and flat gasket tape (will look to replace with o-rings) that ultimately makes me think its factory new, it is great. Fits my purpose, has a reliable latch and the thick handle makes carrying very manageable when fully packed.

Worth it would buy again
I really liked it. I hope to buy more.

Thin plastic, poor closing mechanism
It’s not terrible, but it’s not great either. I’m just using it as a small storage box to hold BBQ related items outside so I don’t have to keep bringing them in. But the box is made from thin, cheap plastic, and the closing mechanism is loose and inadequate and doesn’t snap closed as would be expected — it just kinda hangs loose. As a result, if you were to pick up the box it would flay open. It doesn’t stay closed unless you utilize the padlock holes and actually put an additional lock in place. Or I guess I could put some kind of pin or small piece of rod through there, but it shouldn’t be necessary.
