Our son, who loves lego couldn't wait to build this and it didn't disappoint!

Bought as a present for a young relative, who really likes the set.

This is a lovely set from the Lego Friends series - bright, colourful, and very much a dolls set that’s designed to be played with.I built this in a little under two hours, with a few interruptions along the way. The set comes in 5 numbered stage bags plus an extra, unnumbered bag with larger base plate pieces, the stair rail, and the ‘string’ for the rooftop lights in it.The instructions are clear and easy to follow, printed in a well-produced, thick booklet. I thought that it was quite a nice detail that along the way there are some extra little images to show what the part that’s just been assembled will be once the build is complete. I think for a younger builder this would help as a motivational point. I really enjoyed this attractive medium-sized build, and discovering the functions of parts as I put it together. Everything was complete and the instructions accurate, with a few extra small parts thrown in for good measure in each of the numbered bags. There are loads of interesting little touches everywhere - it’s not just obvious elements such as the rooftop lights - there are little bottles and an egg box that go into a fridge, a tortilla press machine that opens and closes, an even a bin with rubbish in it!The set is reasonably generous on the inclusion of dolls, and there are some great details such as wrinkles on the older, grandmother figure; a smaller scale granddaughter/little sister; and an extremely grumpy-looking cat.I would have loved playing with this when I was little, but I can see why it’s rated for 8+ rather than younger. There are some quite fiddly components, and when the set is assembled there’s not a huge amount of space inside the restaurant area to play with the dolls - it’s a set that requires a certain amount of patience and dexterity both for the build, and to avoid knocking bits off/be able to make running repairs when pieces do come apart.

It's a shame when you have to hit higher price points for Lego to really shine and with this set (priced at £62.97 at time of review), it really does.I was fortunate enough to be able to review this and even more fortunate to have my 4yo daughter help build it. This set is a real joy to build from start to finish. As it takes shape, I was really impressed by all the details. Something as simple as the shelf full of jars and bottles looks absolutely amazing as does the cooker with it's knobs and pans and cookers. Small details like the hooks holding up cooking equipment and the menu tucked into the corner are really pleasing. I loved the colourful orange fridge too. The vibrant colours really give this restaurant a unique South American personality and the concept of a community kitchen really opens up a world of stories. Play is easy as the kitchen is easily accessible from by turning the set around. There's seating outside and lovely dining area above the restaurant too. A grumpy looking cat completes the scene. I loved how the stairs wrap around the building and the use of fauna is excellent.Lego does stories really well and this is a great example of this. This set really unleashes creative storytelling and my daughter loves playing with it (and I'll occasionally be drafted in to fix things)! There are 3 figures included in this set and I think it's enough. Once again it's a shame you have to reach these price points for really pleasing and unique builds but this is an impressive set I would have no issues in recommending.

Another beautiful set from the Lego Friends series, this is a good sized set with a lot to play with. The instructions are clear and easy to follow, and the pieces are very well made and the high quality expected from Lego
