Did not include doll
It was only the book and did not have the dwarf doll included as the picture shows. I got this as a gift for someone so I had to give them the doll from mine that I got a few years ago

No doll included
Only the book!! After reading the other reviews- I decided to chance it and hoped Iโd get what the picture showed: both the book and doll...And nowhere in the description did it say it was ONLY the book. Well it was only the book, but like I said- other people said the same and others got only the doll! Some got both. I wasnโt lucky and really want the doll too! Otherwise the book is in ok condition- not the best binding. Itโs an ok book- my kid likes it but itโs nothing great...wouldโve been a million times better with the actual Dwarf doll.

Story doesn't deliver
The doll, packaging and illustrations are great - the story however is very lacking. It rhymes and has a few funny lines, but just doesn't deliver a clear, clever story. My ten year, who loves stuffed toys, plays with the doll quite a bit. However, after we finished the story she asked "So, I'm not supposed to like our elf?"

Fun activity
Santa does not come to our house but I LOVE the silly opportunities the Elf supplies. But without the big guy there is no cause for an elf so I've just pined away at my friends' adventures. When I saw this I had lots of great ideas and at our house he surprises us year round! He's a fun little guy with great book and I would recommend him to any Santa-less house or Grinch.

Not what I was expecting
This book is neither mischievous or a parody, and it's not a bit funny. It's a total condemnation of the 'elf on the shelf' fad disguised as a rather saccharine story. I'm not a fan of the shelf elf, but this really isn't any better - it's not terribly well-written, rhymes are forced, and it's very preachy. It's not at all what I was expecting when I ordered it based on the Amazon description and the quoted review (there were no customer reviews at the time.) Two stars because the doll is cute.

okay
this book is geared for an adult to understand the humor it is sarcastic and sad to poke fun at the elf that small children believe in so much I am sorry I spent my money on it Redbone

sweet little holiday story, and a plush toy to boot.
I truly adore this little gem. It has a really sweet way of getting the message across that the best holiday times are the little moments with your loved ones. And I'll be honest, I've always had a problem with that Elf! A shelf squatting snitch is not the way to teach kids about the holidays. The Dwarf in the Drawer is wonderfully illustrated book, and to my surprise, came with a cute little plush toy of the Dwarf. bonus! My 4 year old loves the story and my 9 month old daughter likes to snuggle the Dwarf. Happy holidays to all.

A New Tradition
Parents who have had enough of the Elf and its rules, will really enjoy this funny, delightful book. The book also contains some very good messages for children. The book comes with a Dwarf who will be with your children throughout the year, not only for one month. He can be played with and cuddled. And he does not spy on your family or snitch to Santa. If you are seeking a positive, fun book for the children in your life this holiday season, seek no more. You have found it in The Dwarf in the Drawer.
