Draper Tools 60741 Carbon Steel Flat Nose Pliers 125 mm

Nicely made, robust and precision finished. Only criticism is that the spring is a little too powerful, but that is really personal preference.

Bought these together with a small long nosed pair as I needed them for those fiddly jobs. Smaller tools can be expected to be designed and manufactured for small items and therefore need to be of closer tolerance. Draper tools usually are of good quality but these aren’t up to standard.The two faces of the flat nose don’t close evenly on each other and one side has been finished at an angle. The spring steel strips that make up the self opening mechanism have been fitted such that when fully open the tab and slot do not meet. This results in them not always engaging correctly as the pliers are closed. Tried easing the two strips out of where they are fitted into the handle but they’re obviously stuck into position. Overall the pliers will (with care) be ok but somewhat disappointed in their quality.Tried to write a separate review of the long nose pair but the system doesn’t recognise the additional pair (they were ordered together). These are slightly better finished than the flat nose pair although the two faces could still close better on each other.

Superb, plain-jawed mini pliers. Reliable, & polished build quality which I use for minor electronics constructs - bargain basement price from this vendor (altho' some of the competing jokers for the same item command a seriously high price tag - I'm not even to go into the reason for such - pretty sure you can work it out). Thoroughly recommended seller !!

Bought as a gift for a crafter friend. She said they are very good. Alignment is brilliant. Worth paying the extra for apparently!

you would think what could be that wrong with a pair a pliers that one wouldn't be able to use for DYI...do not worry, draper will find few ways to make it wrong.Specifically with these pliers, there is still around 1 mm gap between the jaws in the closed position.For mini pliers, that is huge gap and renders the pliers unusable.The moral, just buy decent brands, once.
