I noticed my sister had a set of these in her sitting room and loved them. Good quality for their use as long as no one knocks their mug of tea over them ! The pictures on them are clear, colourful and really humorous, especially if you are interested in birds. I’ve bought 2 sets for friends for Xmas.

These coasters are a fairly standard style of laminated MDF with cork backing, but what makes them special is their novelty value. Each of the 6 designs features a selection of wild birds with a slightly cheeky name. I daren’t mention any of these specifically lest my review be censored but you can see the whole selection in the product images. They are puerile enough to raise a titter but you won’t need to hide them when your granny comes round - in fact she may enjoy her own set as a gift! They are a good talking point which will provide a few giggles and, for the ornithologically minded, the illustrations are actually quite realistic as well as being attractive. The tried and tested construction means they are also as durable and easy to wipe clean as you’d expect. The current price of this set of 6 is £9.99 and they would make a nice gift for anyone who enjoys garden birds along with a wee chuckle.
