Simple Application
This BT OBDII connector is simple in its application with the addition of a-required App which can be downloaded through the usual platforms for use with either an iOS or sn Android base phone. Some of the apps are free ad-based form, while others require a nominal fee for usage. This OBDII connector has helped (with the app) in ascertaining the vehicle's diagnostics as well as operational condition. In this instance, it has been used to ascertain average fuel consumption, average speed, coolant and oil temperatures as well as transmission fluid temperature. It is a great means of understanding the vehicle's condition and help with certain maintenance procedures. Depending on the app coupled with this connector, the information acquired can be made vehicle-specific, for instance, this has been used to reciprocate between 2 cars, and the information has been kept separate for both vehicles. In addition, the usual code verification is also easily performed, errors diagnosed, corrected and erased.A simple but essential tool to use.

Gen2 Prius & Dr. Prius - Root Causing the Red Triangle of Death (RTD)
Overall, very pleased with the purchase & results. Note: I didn't purchase the additional functions with added features and capabilities, possibly a future "to-do" but for my needs started with and used the Dr. Prius' free Monitoring function and was able to identify two blocks that were out of spec that "might be" the root cause of my Gen2 Prius' RTD.Took apart the two suspect blocks, tested the four batteries with a DVM that made up the two blocks. Replaced one bad battery in one block and a marginal battery in the other block, then reinstalled the hybrid battery system. It's been ~3 weeks and 1,000 miles since the battery replacements and the car has been running fine with all blocks measuring within the acceptable parameters.Product's positive points:- Product arrived on schedule- Product setup - easy and straightforward. Zero issues connecting via Bluetooth to an older iPhone 8 which I use only for testingProduct's negative points:- For the FREE monitoring function, there was NO information regarding "what the manufacturer's good vs bad baseline measurements should be." Suggestion: if you don't have a basic understanding of electronic terms as they relate to Hybrids / HEVs, you'll need to do a little research to develop this a basic understanding. In summary, in a pinch the FREE monitoring function provides concise insight into the health of the Hybrid batteries; it's worth the investment. Additionally, if you're diligent about it, periodically plugging into the OBD2 port to monitor and log the measurements of your battery blocks may allow you to identify and proactively replace a degrading block / battery prior to it registering the RTD.

Extremely convenient
Works perfectly as intended. I run a CarPlay app that connects to this scanner so I can read some readings like coolant temp and trans temp. I leave it plugged in all the time and it never draws enough power to kill my battery. Used it to scan someone's check engine light once too and it worked well.

Good Code Reader for the Price
The app is bit hard to navigate at first. If you’re using this product as a code reader then it’s fine. I purchased this as a cheap way to read injector balance rates on an lb7 duramax. You have to purchase the pro software on your App Store to have the capability, which is about $8. I would recommend.

Anyone can use it
excellent unit. have been using free app from the App Store and can do most of what I need as a diy. Bluetooth works excellent and data is accurate. Easy for anyone to use.
