I've been buying the $$$ Manfrotto magic arms and sometimes you just don't need that much magic.The NEEWER super clamps are sturdy and versatile, well thought out and a LOT cheaper. I also got them during Prime Day so they were on sale.

I was surprised to how robust this item is. So far seems to be made of good material and well put together. If I needed something like this again, this is the one I want.

The media could not be loaded.  Today I'm reviewing this Super Clamp with a dual ball head magic arm by Neewer,This is a fairly compact item. Inside we have a brief instruction manual, and Allen key, cold shoe mount, then the main body of the dual ball mount. The two ball mounts are tightened with one twist, they are not individually tightenable. This feels like all metal and no plastic.We now get to the Super clamp portion or the evening. We can see the clamp is operated with the thumbscrew on the side. AT full open we are just under 2.5 inches. When fully closed the opening at widest point is about 3/4 of an inch. So you need at least a 3/4-inch pole/pipe for the best grip. You can use the tip to grip. This piece also feels like solid metal, no plastic here. There are some rubber pads on the inside of the clamp to give it a better grip. You also have some screw mount points around the clamp. You can connect the dual ball-head on four sides of the clamp.When using this super clamp on a pipe the connection is very solid. As you can see it easily holds my panel light and a small webcam. Unfortunately, when using the tip for clamping, the strength and sturdiness comes into question. While it can hold, it tends to wiggle a bit and may mar the surface it is attached to. I am going to remove a star for this reason. I highly recommend only using this on round surfaces to ensure a strong, steady, and non-marking connection.I'm rating this super clamp four out of five stars.Pros- Simple to assemble and use- Strong grip on round surfaces like pipes- Plenty of flexibility of quarter-twenty and 3/8" screw holesCons- Dual ball-heads are not individually adjustable- When depending on tips of clamp the connection is not steady and can mar surfaces

I really like how Neewer is stepping it up as far as their accessories for lightstands are concerned. I needed a swift method of holding a V battery to my c stand to power an accessory. I could have used a longer cable, but I didn't want to go down the impedance rabbit hole. I use this magic arm to hold the V battery cradle, and I place it about half the distance of the power cord's length from the accessory. This clamp holds firmly and the ease of adjusting its height or removing it from the stand is a cinch. Of note are the additional 1/4 by 20 holes, but I haven't found anything to attach these at this time. I'll add an update if I discover something clever and unexpected.

This is a very simple tool and when you need it, its perfect. I've used it to hold up smaller lights and flashes and even a smaller remote camera.

This is a BEAST of a clamp. This will easily attach to a 1.5" Schedule 40 pipe and just about anything up to (and beyond) that diameter. One of the most robust clamps I have ever used. The Dual Ballhead Magic Arm provides as much flexibility as you should need. This is without a doubt going to be a permanent part of my travel kit. Yes, it's a bit heavy but that just speaks to how solidly built this mount is.

This clamp definitely exceeded my expectations. It is all metal construction and every surface is finished very well. This clamp works great for me on both round and flat surfaces (like a table edge). Very little torque on the knobs provides a rock-stable clamping force. The body of the clamp (and the knob!) are covered with 1/4 and 3/8 threaded holes which can be used as mounting points for either the included double-ball mount (which is also all metal and finished just as well) or the included cold-shoe adapter.I do not usually lay on the accolades when reviewing something, but this clamp is just outstanding!

Super easy to use. Just clamp it onto something then spin the double ball join onto any of the various mounting points. There's 3 on the end of the thumb screw that fit so I used that to mount an LED panel. The LED panel is decently heavy but well within the weight limit of the arm. It extends a bit far out so the forces experienced at the joint might be going a little over but it's held on for hours no problem without slipping.
