I'm sure this would work if my hands weren't so small. The medium is still too big so I'm not getting the support intended.

Don’t waste your money. No support at all

From day one that I got these, I loved them. But they aren't braces or splints; they are thumb compression support gloves to help with pain, swelling, and to protect the joints, which is exactly what I was looking for. I was very happy with the internal foam pads that are an oval one located right over my thumb joint and one long small one over the heel of my hand. I wear them a lot during the day, and it keeps my hands and especially my very painful thumb joint feeling supported and protected better, and I was ready to give them 5 stars.But one issue that I am having over time, is that the internal foam pads are not anchored in place; they drift around in between the two layers of compression fabric and are very hard to get back into place.I may have to open them up and try to figure out a way to anchor them in place so they stay put. But other than that, I am happy with them and they do what I expected. But if it truly is a splint or a brace you are looking for, this probably isn't what you want.

The ad for this product is a little confusing as it doesn’t make clear that you receive two gloves, but just to make everyone aware, you DO get two. The lycra material is fairly thick for lycra which should help the gloves to hold up longer. The gel padding is nice as well. My only issue is that the stitching around the edges is a bit shabby. Interestingly, the gloves arrived in a box that had the words “FOOT CARE” which I thought was a bit odd! I ordered the gloves (actually, I only need one) due to osteoarthritis in my right hand. It is very comfortable to wear and I really appreciate that I can wear it at any time and it doesn’t interfere with my activities. I do have a different brace that I occasionally wear that is rigid and while it can be helpful at times (especially at night when sleeping), it really interferes with the use of my hand during the day. One other thing I want to point out: the padding is designed to go over the thumb joint and also across the underside of the wrist. The gloves can be used on either hand and to do so simply turn the glove ‘inside out’ and it will position the padding for the opposite wrist. For $5 this is a good bargain since it actually does help both with compression as well as padding. As for fit, while I don’t necessarily think it runs ‘large’, it definitely does not run small. If you are debating which size to get and are sort of in between my recommendation is to consider getting the smaller of the two (at the time of this review they only had Medium and Large). First off, the box they arrived in was labeled Foot Care, so I did not even open it at first. After contacting the seller, I finally did open the box and found they were the correct item, just in the wrong box. So, I notified the seller that I did receive what I ordered after all. As for the thumb brace itself, I do not think I would call it a brace. I was expecting something that would hold my thumb more rigid, and this is more like a glove. But, it is a very comfortable glove though. The gel pads are very comfortable on my hand and the size is snug enough for the compression I need for my wrist. It is just that there is no thumb support, so I removed a star. If it was mainly needed for my wrist and hand, I would give it 5 stars. But for only $5.00 and for getting two well padded gloves, it is worth the purchase.

These thumb support braces are really just soft gloves with some padding that are very comfortable, but do not provide any support for the CMC joint. I was expecting something with a bit more structure in order to support the joint. Unfortunately, these gloves do not provide that support. I liked the soft gloves, but they do not provide what is needed for the joint. Too bad.These gloves are soft and comfortable. They may work well for someone who doesn't have severe pain and just needs some light support and warmth. In addition, I got the smallest size that was offered and it was still to big to provide the support needed. A great idea that just doesn't quite work.

These gloves are extremely light, which makes them very comfortable. You get two. The package says “foot care,” which is kind of weird, and I thought there had been a mistake, but it was definitely gloves.I cannot by any stretch of the imagination call these “thumb immobilizers,” or “compression” or “support.” Possibly it is the fit, but since you get only 2 choices with an inch difference between the two on the larger end, and there is no small, I can tell you that if you are a person with small hands (I’m an average woman with average hands), these are not going to support or compress anything. Frankly, I think the material (which is a bit like knee highs) could not possibly compress more than the slightest bit even if snug.They are useful to wear when using a keyboard because the padding does give you a bit of cushioning on the bottom of the palm. For this reason I am not completely writing these off. I will be using them for that purpose, but definitely not to support my thumb or my wrists.
