As someone who does a lot of minor roof repairs this is a must have tool. I was surprised with how handy these are. They are a finger saver for sure when you are trying to nail up under a shingle. They are well made

This is a different product than i would have guessed. Repairing shingles is a chore, and this works pretty good.I usually use a pry bar and a hammer. Tried this and it's one tool that takes the place of two.I don't have occasion to use this a lot (thankfully) but I'll keep this in my toolbox...just in case.

I was looking for a tool that would aid in replacing a handful of shingles that had been blown off in a strong wind recently, and this tool fit the bill! It has an innovative u-shaped design which allows you to place a nail in a slot in the bottom portion of the ‘u’ (which is magnetized to assist in holding the nail in place), and a solid metal plate on the top of the ‘u’ so you can hammer the nail in while the overlapping shingle sits in the middle of the ‘u’. Quite ingenious, and it allows you to get to the end nails in the shingle quite nicely, although it does leave the nail about 1/4” from being flush, so you’ll then have to retract the tool from the nail and place it on the nail head to complete driving it flush. Attempting to nail the interior portions of the shingle is still an issue, however, but as long as the overlapping shingle is flexible enough, the ‘u’ shaped portion of the tool still helps in getting the nail started and in place much easier than attempting to do so without this tool.I gave this tool a 4 out of 5 stars only because I would like the ‘u’ portion of the tool to be a bit deeper, so the nail could be placed further away from the edge of the shingle. Overall, however, this tool is a time saver when having to replace a shingle or a few shingles within a roof that’s already in place, and definitely worth the $$.
