Bought for the new Samsung tab have to take the cover off to use if it’s a chunky cover ( which ours has ) but swivels and holds the tablet very well

This works well, fits the head rests in our car, the kids can operate it which means no reaching round dangerously trying to fit an ipad on a head rest while children scream away on the m25. Most importantly it means that none of us will be beheaded by a flying ipad, which is always a good thing in my eyes (which I still have because of the lack of beheading)

Didn't fit headrests in back of car so some zip ties were needed to secure it. Holds phone reasonably well.

This is a holder deigned to fit on the bars of the headrest. On first look the design of it seems like it should do what I need. But when I start pulling the spring loaded holder and fiddling with the knobs it feels all a bit plastic. The springs in the holder creaks and doesn’t always spring back immediately, I have to give it that gentle nudge. Feels a bit bulkier than alternatives on the market. But otherwise works as intended and the angle completely adjustable. Fits my iPhone 10 in landscape fine, the rubber inserts provides the cushioning and grip that it needs. Would fit most phones comfortably. Too small for the Kids Fire 8 tablet unfortunately.

Often the 'universal' style of tablet holders have let me down, usually due to poor design in trying to accomodate all types of seat / head rest I have two chidren and they each use different sizes and styles of tablets (Amazon Fire HD10, iPad Mini, an old HTC tablet and a Microsoft Surface Go).The locking mechnaism is placed between the metal support struts of the headrests of the driver / passenger seats. There is enough expansion to accomodate large or small spacing between the struts and the locking mechanism is very firm, but not so much as to make you think you're tightening it to the point you could break it.The tablet holder relies on a ball and socket system, and if you've used GPS / Mobile Phone bike mounts, you'll be familiar with this design. The tablet holder itself expands firmly and accomodates a range of tablet dimenions. For particularly large tablets you may need the holder to hold it 'portrait style' and then rotate it 90 degrees.In practice, the unit worked flawlessly. All parts were tight enough and held the tablet(s) at a consistent angle all the time, even over the most challenging of speed bumps. The ball and socket attachment was particulalry surprising - once in place, there is enough friction to angle the tablet correctly, but not so much give that it would move during travel.So points of caution:1. This is a mostly-plastic construction, and often these sorts of products dont do well in the cold, as they can become brittle. So in the Winter months I wouldnt recommend leaving in the car overnight.2. The struts on headrests are designed to be used as an emergency device to break the glass in car windows, and this device *may* impede that successful operation of that procedure, or at least introduce an added complication As with all things you must decided what's right for youOverall, for me, I would recommend this product - it performed incredibly well, and I found that after much manipulation, stretching to different sizes, fitting on a few different headrests, the product maintained its robustness.
