They work!
Exactly as described. The pellets keep slugs and snails away from young plants without chemicals and poisons to harm hedgehogs and birds. And added fertiliser too!

ONLY some SLUGS GONE!
I have used this product over the past and achieved good results. This time, I used more of it around the new plants I had purchased, but the slugs still managed to attack some of them (perhaps the little devils have learnt how to jump over the barriers I carefully put down?!!) Anyhow, its worth a try, but I will experiment with a different brand when I run out. I also feel that the product is a bit expensive but hasten to say that If it had worked like the original stuff I used, I would not quibble about cost! Please note my review is about the product. The sellers service was fine!

Extremely effective - the munching has stopped!
I was a tad sceptical initially but having tried a small pack and saved my beans from the marauding hordes of slugs inhabiting our garden I went on to order a load more. The best way to apply these is to form a funnel with your hands and fingers (a bit hard to describe but think of praying hands, put pellets in between your palms and funnel out through finger tips) and let them fall in a line on the soil. You can then spread them out a little, but don't make it too thin. Water in well and walk away - come back tomorrow and your plants will still be there. Be careful if forming a shape around a group of plants as you can actually trap a pest inside the area, and so still lose your plants Done that one!

Jury still out on this one
Easy to use but do look messy after a rain shower. Seemed to be effective initially but slugs are happy to cross them. They are expensive and you really do need at least this size of bucket. Personally, I'm undecided as to whether they are worth the money and whether they are effective. I might give them another try, at least they are better than the blue pellets.

Easy to use and works to keeps slugs and snails off my precious patio plants
These pellets really work, but you have to make sure you cover the earth properly or the little slugs and snails can still get through. Useful for my patio pots etc. Lovely "farmyard" smell too.

Costly for performance and other issues
I have used this product off and on over the years. I find that when you use a lot of it around the stems of plants it works fairly well in deterring slugs, however you need to use a LOT and the product is very costly. I bought two big tubs thinking I would just dive in and get a large quantity for my dahlias and a few young vegetable plants. I had to use it by the fistful to treat my five dahlias, nearly emptying the tub. It is simply not cost-effective and the suggestion printed on the tub to use it to protect “borders” made me laugh. You would need tubs and tubs of the stuff for that to work; it would cost hundreds. I also had a big problem opening the plastic tubs. The plastic strip that is meant to tear easily to allow you to open the top lid did not work on both tubs. It snapped. With difficulty, I had no choice but to pry the lid off with a knife. This, coupled with other product defects and the cost, left me quite infuriated. I don’t intend to buy it again. I may attempt to make my own with commonly used wool packaging material added to the abundant sheep poo that is all around us here in Shropshire!
