Easy to use, more comfortable than plastic cones
Cones. Absolutely necessary for most pets after they have a surgery to prevent them from undoing their surgical work. Now the traditional plastic cones that clinics use works. It’s simple, relatively cheap (for the clinics) if not for the mark ups, and typically uncomfortable. They’re meant to keep the animals from reaching themselves, which is effective, however the plastic cones can be very disorienting, and get in the way of the animals from doing what they’re familiar with — and getting back to normal. My Savannah cat recently went through surgery, and because of her breed, the clinic installed a very long cone on her. It was extremely frustrating for her, as she was knocking into everything and getting very very pissed off. Considering this breeds’ personality, it was causing her tremendous amount of stress and discomfort.Thankfully I had this cone prepared, and swapped the cones. It provides proper protection against her picking at her sutures, and gives her visibility to where she’s going — unlike the cone, which was limiting her vision and view, having her bump into everything. The cone itself is easy to use, you inflate it to about 80% so it’s not too hard and firm, and you insert the collar into it. After that it’s just installing onto your pet. There is an additional securing strap at top to make it more secure as necessary. There is a transparent extension that can be installed to provide additional protection via a zipper mechanism. Very easy to zip on or off, even if it’s on the pet.The only downside is that because the cone is like a donut, the animal may not be able to lay totally flat. If your animal can only sleep comfortably completely flat, maybe a traditional plastic cone would be better. Otherwise, if your animal can maneuver and find him/herself a comfortable position with a donut, this will be a better option.I should add that the cover also comes off as well so it can be washed if necessary.

A perfect and comfortable fit for a Yorkie/Chihuahua mix!
It's really hard to find a cone that's small enough to fit Rip, and I wanted to find one before we have him neutered to keep him from licking that sensitive area. This is the perfect cone, and it's comfortable for him. I love that the area that holds the plastic inner blow-up bladder zips and unzips, and the bladder is removable, allowing easy removal when the cone needs to be washed. The clear plastic cone also easily zips off; this makes it easy to launder, and we can use just the blow-up part if he ever has a cut or incision closer to his head that doesn't need the clear plastic cone part. The Velcro will easily adjust if Rip grows as he ages, and I like that there are loops to hold the cone onto his collar so he can't slip out of the cone. This cone is so much more comfortable than any of the other cones we've used on our other dogs, and it has so many more features than any other cone we've ever had. I wholeheartedly recommend this cone!

Recovery collar with a twist
This inflatable recovery donut for dogs is a much more comfortable option than the hard plastic collars often provided by veterinarians. I like the clear plastic ring, which seems to add an extra layer of protection without blocking the dog's peripheral visions, which can cause them anxiety. It’s easy to inflate and the measurements provided seem to be accurate. Be aware, though, that some dogs will manage to destroy them. I’ve used similar collars successfully with other dogs. However, the two pittie pups I just had neutered managed to destroy these in 2 days - one whole day longer than a donut collar without the plastic piece. They also destroyed their hard plastic cones, so that’s not a negative commentary on the product at all, it’s just to say that you should evaluate the destructive leanings of your own dog and make your choice of a recovery collar accordingly. I wouldn’t hesitate to get these again to use with other pups who are slightly less enthusiastic about escaping from their recovery collars.

Worked great!
My daughters dog had surgery and this collar was perfect. The dog is big and has a 18 inch neck and this fit. So much better than the old school collars. Much more comfortable and worked great in the healing process.

Good doggie cone of shame
Our animals always are in need of good cones for various reasons. This is a good medium sized cone for a medium sized dog. Well worth to have on hand for emergencies
