J’ai failli le retourner tellement j’ai trouvé certains timbres et fréquences durs! Je l’ai branché avec un transfo linéaire et plus rien à voir! C’est exactement la même chose avec le preampli phono V90 lps de la même marque. Excellent appareil mais bridé par son alimentation de piètre qualité ! Une fois ce souci réglé, ce dac est un réel plaisir à écouter !

The performance of this little black box is beyond my expectations. It’s way better than my 20 years old Sonic Frontier which is much bigger and heavier. Most importantly is the sound produced which is very neutral to me.

I've been using a Mac Mini as our sound server for a few years but finally got tired of the "not quite great" sound from it (feeding my amp over TOSLink). No matter what, the sound from the (admittedly fine) Yamaha CDC-845 with its incredibly low noise and excellent DACs knocked its socks off. After reading stats and reviews, I picked this as my first outboard DAC. Initially I ran it with a cheap USB (silver braid, printer) cable (but short, audiophile cables for the analog out). It sounded pretty darned good (a pinch better than the Mac over TOSLink) but there was some subtle roughness to the high-end like you get with an older CD player. After reading that, while the isochronous transfers used have error checking (checksums), they have no error correction ability, I upgraded to a quality USB 2.0 high-speed cable tested for incredibly low error rate (Oyaide NEO d+), and the sound was much, much better. Still not quite as rich and live as the Yamaha's. My goal was to make the Mac little more than a selection control and data server, so finally I put on BitPerfect (app available in Apple's app store) and had it use Integer mode and smart selection of bitrates. That did it. Now this thing shines. The sound is of course a little different than the Yamaha's as you'd expect from different DACs, but only in terms of character, not quality. Really, this little DAC shines with spectacular, round sound and superbly low noise - you just need make to make sure it gets to show its stuff.

Diciamo innanzitutto che ho comprato V90-DAC per fare un regalo, quindi anche l'aspetto della scatola conta parecchio l'imballo dell'oggetto è perfetto si presenta molto solido al tatto e la scatola di metallo che contiene i circuiti è ben rifinita, forse un po' limitato l'alimentatore ma vista le basse tensioni che deve alimentare non sembra creare nessun tipo di problema, io l'ho collegato come convertitore esterno a un lettore cd della Tangent il Tangent EXEO CDP, di per sé è una macchina piuttosto semplice dotata però già di una buona unità di conversione interna, la catena a cui era collegato è un amplificatore a valvole della Music Angel di fatto un cinese con 12 valvole più due pilota, (ma molto musicale e ben suonante), e casse a due vie autocostruite ma di ottima qualità, (sono da sempre un audiofilo e i mie riferimenti sono piuttosto alti e pretendo sempre una qualità elevata dagli impianti HI-FI che compongo e anche in questo caso mi aspettavo molto). La prima impressione immediata è stato che rispetto al vecchio lettore CD sia in grado immediatamente di ampliare la scena sonora e di dare un maggior dettaglio agli strumenti, (l'ho ascoltato con musica classica per violoncello e flauto, ma anche sinfonica e con alcuni cd di riferimento mieri di musica moderna rock) ma la cosa ancora più interessante è che voci e suoni tendono ad essere più caldi è più simili al reale, quindi di fatto una differenza assolutamente percepibile confrontata con l'unità di conversione interna al lettore di CD che ho sfruttato a questo punto semplicemente come meccanica, altra cosa da sottolineare è la maggior capacità di dettaglio della scena e della collocazione nello spazio degli strumenti, non sembra dare particolare importanza alle frequenze basse nel senso che ci sono e sono presenti ma non sono enfatizzate quindi, come hanno scritto altri in altre recensioni, non è un convertitore bum bum ma è un convertitore che fa molto bene il suo lavoro in un'ottica di ascolto di qualunque tipo di genere musicale in maniera lineare, prerogativa del resto di tutti i prodotti Musical Fidelity possedevo già in passato un x-dac che faceva egregiamente il suo lavoro.In conclusione lo consiglio a tutti coloro che vogliono tirare fuori un suono migliore direttamente da un CD magari un po' più vecchio, o con una unità di conversione moderna ma poco performante, io ho utilizzato un cavo ottico per collegare il lettore di CD al V90-DAC , non ho provato con il coassiale quindi non posso dire altro in merito, , il vantaggio però è che ha più di una sorgente.Consigliato assolutamente soprattutto per il rapporto qualità prezzo, non troverete nulla che a questo prezzo suoni in questo modo!
