I bought this after finding a trail of ants had emerged from a crack in one corner of my kitchen and made its way over to a cupboard on the other side, where my son had thoughtfully left a half-eaten lollipop. I temporarily staved them off by sprinkling a load of black pepper in a kind of protective magic circle around the crack, but they were undaunted. They emerged from the field of pepper hungrier, and meaner.Wednesday morning, I left them a box of Zybux. By the evening, the box was alive with activity. Tiny black bodies jostling to gain entry. I experienced a momentary pang of guilt, imagining how pleased they must be with their bounty, how proud they would be to take the sweet, sticky poison back to Queenie in her nest. I thought of how she would pheremonically express her delight and favour, of their formic little faces aglow.I read, while I waited, a paper on the effects of Spinosad on beneficial insects. In high doses, I read, Spinosad causes "massive perturbations to the flux of ions in neurons". I thought of their small bodies, spasmodically ajerk as their nervous systems lost control.In low doses spinosad was observed to cause "lysosomal dysfunction", which sounds unpleasant, leading to "mitochondrial stress", "severe neurodegeneration" and blindess. I wondered whether ants understood the concept of mortality, whether they called out for their queen in their final moments as their neurons sparked and the darkness descended.On Thursday, I saw no ants.Lo, I am become death, destroyer of nests. We had ants appearing on our kitchen work top every day so ordered these. We noticed much less ants but did not get rid off them completely.

I put this on for a half days tons of ants came out. And then next day no more ants came back !!!

Placed 2 products next to nest. Ants ignored both and colony seems to have expanded 2 weeks later. Appears to be a waste of money based on my experience of use.
