Top quality product and service.
I own lots of camping gear (too much lol), so it's fair to say I have a fairly good idea if an item is of decent quality straight out of the box. This ticks all the boxes for anyone wanting something fairly stealthy, but you can still sit up in. There are similar products here in the UK but I often see mixed reviews regarding their quality. This was one of the few items (Bivy Tent) I did not own and I am glad I was patient as I saw this after a Youtuber popped up on my feed reviewing this item.On initial inspection: The taped seams and the stitching are all very good. The groundsheet feels reassuringly durable with well-taped seamsThe mesh looks 100% midge-proof, and the rest of the inner tent material feels like a nice quality and is a classy gold colour. The outer fly has a really funky camo pattern and will certainly work best in the Autumn season. The fly is also highly waterproof with no leaks. I have not used this tent yet as it only arrived today but I give all my new purchases an immediate 'shower test' and it passed this with flying colours. No leaks anywhere. The pegs are decent enough and the poles are reassuringly of high quality. The nose end of the tent that can be used for extra ventilation also looks big enough to store some kit if required. All zips run as smoothly as you could wish for. You can always tell good zips by the fact you can operate them with one hand if needed. The space in this 'bivy tent' is far superior to some of the rivals I've been looking at. You cannot sit up in those, but there is a ton of headroom in this one. This is also an entry on either side - which is always useful when the wind has changed direction. It's inner first pitch, which means you can star gaze on a clear night, and/or combine the inner with a tarp or poncho to shelter from rain on those hot and sticky nights. Failing that, you could probably guy the doors out slightly using stick/trekking poles for ventilation too.A buckle system is in place for attaching the outer fly - I own US Military tents by Eureka, Diamon Brand, Orc Industries, and Litefighter. I can tell the designer of this tent knows military products. The buckle system is far more convenient than using anything like ties.Last but not least. The owner of this company is very personable - you even get a handwritten Thank You. I even got an extra surprise I was not expecting. I purchased this tent directly from his website but feel compelled to add a review here as the product and customer service are extremely good. I also note that I am the first UK-based person to review this tent. I would encourage my fellow UK wild campers to take a look at this if you are thinking about a bivvy tent. It's not the lightest, but it is strong and waterproof.Although I do like the rather rare camo (Rhodesian Brushstroke), I think the only feedback I would give the company is to perhaps consider producing alternate fly camo patterns as well. These could be sold as a separate fly only for existing owners to upgrade to a new skin. or as a new package with the whole tent as well. I would certainly consider buying an alternate fly, especially if they came in US Army Woodland or Germany Army Flecktarn.Look up 'dragoon unlimited ridgeback one person tent ' on Youtube for some reviews.
