I recently purchased a pair of men's shorts from Amazon Essentials and I must say I am thoroughly impressed with the quality and design of these shorts. Front and back pockets are small. Pnone barely fits in front, wallet barely fits in back. Side pockets are great size though. Fits good. Looks good.

My husband really likes these cargo shorts especially because the top pockets by the belt are very deep to hold his glasses in their hard glasses case. But these shorts they have one major downside. We ordered a second pair before we realized that the cargo pockets down on the lower sides each have a DOUBLE flap over the top, making it difficult to unbutton the pocket/flap. The top flap is plain (no buttons show), and it is tacked (sewn) in two places to the second flap right underneath it. The bottom flap has two button holes in it for buttoning the cargo pocket closed (each pocket has two buttons that hold the flap shut). In order to open/close the cargo pocket buttons, you have to squeeze your fingers in-between the set of two flaps, and try to unbutton two separate buttons — and that is difficult. It is also difficult because the button hole is a little too small to get the button through. The reason why he likes cargo pants is to have enough pockets to carry his wallet, cell phone, and glasses when we go on walks, but the cumbersome flaps on the side which are difficult to button/unbutton (and they are fastened with TWO buttons each), take away from the convenience of having those pockets. I think for that reason, he’s likely to leave those flaps unbuttoned all the time, but that makes it a risk for loosing whatever you put in there. If we had realized this before ordering the second pair, we probably would have purchased some other brand. Other than the way the cargo pants button closed, these are nice pants, good quality, and look good. If you don’t actually use the cargo pockets on cargo pants, go for it. Reasonable good quality cargo short. Not as loose in the waist and legs like many cargo shorts normally are.
