I simply couldn't resist these mugs, and they are as beautiful in person as in the product photos. They are also a nice size -- holding about 1 1/4 (10 oz) of liquid comfortably. The height of under 3.5 inches will work well with my espresso machine. I tried to show scale in the photo with my hand. I really can't wait to have a tea party or use these with guests because, truly, they look amazing.In the second photo, I paired the mugs with a set of 5.9-inch Japanese-style (Mino ware) pottery plates (also ordered from Amazon) as saucers, and the colors and size work well together. Although they aren't a matching set, they both have a handmade stoneware feel with a similar texture and weight.
