Slate is thin and fragile. chalks broken. Would not buy again.

Used these slates for charcuterie and they worked out nicely. They are a nice size and I was able to fit everything on them. I did hand wash them, they have rubber feet on the bottom to keep them from sliding on the table, and I didn't want them to fall off in the dishwasher. The slates are thin and I can see them breaking pretty easily if dropped, so handle with care. The chalk was an issue for me, it breaks pretty easy, so be careful how much pressure you use when writing. The price is toward the bottom end when compared to other similar items. Overall, I probably won't use these slates very often, but they worked out fine for me and did the job.

Wow! If you love charcuterie, you'll love these! My family loves charcuterie and we have all of the boards and quite a nice collection of them. These slates are really cool, the chalk that it comes with is aquite fragile, so keep those safe. It is really nice to be able to write on the slates and organize your meat and cheese. Before I was printing little flags to tape to toothpicks. These slates need to be handwashed, I have no idea what would happen if you placed these in the dishwasher. They have little pads on the bottom to help them from slipping on whatever surface you have them on and I'm sure the hot water in the dishwasher would break down the adhesive these pads are attached with. So, handwash only.
