very good book!
I am a kickboxer who also does some mixed martial arts on the side. I bought this book to extend my knowledge of the groundfighting, thinking it would help my overall game. This book is brilliant! It is organised in a logical way, starting with fighting (and defending) from the back mount up to fighting from the guard. The techniques described are easy to follow, thanks to the very good step-by-step pictures. Equal amount is divided between offensive and defensive techniques, with a lot of techniques being accessible to beginners and intermediates (I don't know about advanced techniques since I am a beginner, but it is probably worth checking out for yourself). The only reservation I have about this book is that all the techniques are demonstrated with the gi. Therefore, it makes them slightly unsuitable for people like me who are interested in no gi/mma jiu-jitsu. There are some mma techniques throughout the book but not in sufficient number to be really useful. However, most techniques can be used or adapted to no gi/mma contest (I used some of them during sparring and they worked!)Overall, a very good book. Highly recommended for everyone, even if mixed martial artists will find it a bit "light"!
