Third party means shenanigans, but works good
When I first ordered this device, I was confused as to its configuration, since it doesn’t push a driver or even recognize as a specific device that could use one of the windows drivers. Turns out, the windows-included xbox360controller driver will work just fine, no need to download a spooky driver off the web. With that settled, I have very few gripes. Sometimes when I launch apps like Steam Big Picture, or try to connect a wired controller, the controllers freak out and I have to play musical chairs with my usb inputs so they all live in harmony. Haven’t been able to produce a problem I can’t fix by playing this game or just restarting the computer really quick.I use the device weekly if not daily. Works as expected, excellent value for money.

Works PERFECTLY out-of-the-box on Linux! Don't trust those other receivers that look identical!
Get this one once it's back in stock because it works PERFECTLY and with NO FUSS! Learned the hard way that other receivers that look identical can be very flaky, like the following one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01JC68MHUThese Xbox 360 controller receivers can work perfectly out-of-the-box in Linux (Linux Mint, Ubuntu, and all new distros) and can be paired with several gamepads all at the same time. This one does, so it gets 5 stars, but beware the flaky ones that look identical!

Microsoft is fighting back
It worked wonderfully until the last windows update.. Microsoft put out a patch that wouldn't allow the driver to operate on their OS... So since this receiver is not Microsoft it stopped working to allow me to play games using my microsoft controller. :(

Terrible and no driver support
Can't get this thing to work with the microsoft driver and the disk contains nothing other than a manual. I will be returning this hunk of junk and getting a microsoft official one unless I can find the correct driver.don't waste your time or money.

Works with Retropie
I got this to use with a recent Retropie setup. This worked perfectly out of the box. I didn't have to do anythign more than plug the USB cord into my Raspberry pi 3B and sync the controllers to it. They linked and showed up on my retropie configuration input page. I have only used this for a little while, but so far there are no issues.

Cheap and works great
Works just like my original dongle did before it failed. A bit of a hassle to install the drivers since my PCs don't have disc drives and the genuine Microsoft drivers don't work, but overall it's worth it.

Works with PC - NOT Steam Link
I bought this device to use with my Steam Link, but it did not work. It does however work with PC as it is advertised to.

Works (asterisk)
The included CD and drivers are trash, at least in Windows 10. You must go to device manager and manually set this up. Just use the same drivers as the real Windows X360 accessory, and this will work 100%.
