1st bed for our rescue dog (with 2 yr update)
Our rescue dog hadn't had much in the way of home comforts in his previous life and at the rescue they thought he probably hadn't had a bed before as his fur was worn off and he had hard skin over the joints which were in contact with the ground when he lay down. He was just skin and bones too really so he had no natural padding either, poor lad. When he came to us he initially slept on a piece of carpet that he took to but I wanted to get him something a bit more luxurious. I was worried he wouldn't know what it was. But here he is in the picture about 30 seconds after I took the new bed out of the packaging, in the middle of the kitchen floor! He got in and didn't want to get out!! We now have it at the foot of our bed and he almost dives into it at bedtime! My 7 year old lays on it with him too sometimes and says it's really comfy!I bought the matching paw print fleece blanket (shown in the second pic) and I've now worked out that if I tuck the edges of it down the sides of the bolsters, it covers the bit he sleeps on and stays in place overnight, ish. Means I can just wash the blanket regularly. I know this says the bed itself is washable but there's no way I'd fit it into my standard domestic washing machine so I'm just spot cleaning it and vacuuming it for now. No accidents requiring washing as yet but I guess I could take it to a launderette and wash in a big machine when it gets grubby. Our boy is quite a big dog (large Labrador size, 75cm from collar to base of tail along his back, 28kg) and the XXL size is perfect for him as he can stretch out and he uses the side bolsters as a 'pillow' for his head. After a few months in use these are now collapsing a bit as the sides are, like the rest of the bed just wadding/stuffing not foam which would keep it's shape but perhaps offer less squish value. I don't think the dog minds it going a bit flat and it's cheap for a bed of this huge size so I wouldn't expect more.He has ripped the fabric catching his claw on it during a particularly vigorous scratching session sending the stuffing flying which he thought was great fun. I took it off him and stitched it up quickly before he started worrying at it but if you've got a chewer or a bedding digger, beware, they will make total mincemeat of this bed with ease. Fortunately mine isnt. All in all, this probably won't have a huge longevity, hence 4 stars, but good for the price and priceless to see our lovely boy so comfortable. He so deserves it. The fur on his elbows and hocks has grown back now too :-)UPDATE Sept 2019:We've now had this bed just over 2 years and our dog is now a much healthier 35kg but the XXL is still a great size for him. I've added a photo of it now to show that over time the side bolsters have collapsed flat as he uses them as "pillows" but this doesn't bother him. It's in use every night and although in my first review I thought it wouldn't, it has lasted well. The wadding has flattened a little but is still puffy enough for him to be really comfortable. I've had to stitch up a hole but aside from that I'm surprised how durable it has been. Amazingly I've only spot cleaned it and hoovered it and I'm not sure how (!) but it doesn't smell. I have always topped it with a machine washable fleece blanket (would recommend you add poppers in the corners to keep it in place). For a cheap bed, I'd highly recommend, as would my dog ;-)

Great value for money!
Very good for the price. Our collie seems to like it and used it from day one with no prompting.I've included a picture so you can judge the size you might require - this is an adult Border Collie on the XXLarge bed. (Bed is covered in a blanket.)

WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY
DO NOT BUY THIS BED, SO CHEAPLY MADE!!It's a nice looking bed but the material is so thin and cheap that just my dog WALKING IN AND OUT OF HIS BED made holes/tears in the material in ONE DAY OF RECEIVING IT! His previous bed was a similar material one from another company and it lasted him over a year and a half. The only reason we threw it out was because the padding has become a bit thin. And in ONE DAY, there were already tears in this bed! My dog is quite old and just likes to sleep. He doesn't dig or scratch and its absurd that his nails would pierce the material by walking in and out of his bed. The material on the sides as well tore a bit from him laying down in his bed, so the material stretched and tore. AWFUL AWFUL BED!! We also returned the item shortly after and we were supposed to get our money back but they have decided not to refund us. Saying that the damage is from the dog itself so they are not liable. This is absolutely ridiculous, the bed tore with him walking in and out of his bed. HOW CHEAP CAN A BED BE MADE!WASTED MONEY, DO NOT BUY THIS BED

Soft and comfy and should fit a St Bernard nicely!
As soon as the bed arrived our St Bernard pup jumped right in and refuses to get out! Our pup also just decided to start playing tug and tearing at it with his teeth, but no damage so passes that test! The size looks right for an adult st bernard, he just won't be able to sprawl like he is doing in the picture! We wanted a comfy bed as he keeps jumping on the sofa which he's not allowed to do. Think this will do the trick, it is very nicely padded on the bottom, like a thick duvet. The inside is very soft snuggly fleece and the outside is a tough wipeable material. So far so good. Will update as time goes on to see how well it lasts and what it is like after a wash :)

not machine washable unless you have a commercial washing machine
my main reason for this was "machine washable", it might be but not in a domestic machine. Now it's has a towel over it so I can wash that instead, but makes the "soft furry lining" a bit irrelevantI know everyone likes this but I am changing to a 1, every time I see it it winds me up, so, no, I'm not getting another, it skids across the floor every time my spaniel jumps on it, the "sides" might as well not be "sides" and as I can't wash it, have to recover it every time I walk past it, all in all, an expensive fireligher

Yep
These really are very cheap but are they good value? I wanted three beds but bought just the one to check them out because they were so cheap. I very quickly went on to buy the additional two. They appear to be well made, essentially soft sided and if the occupancy rate is anything to go by, very comfy. We have three spaniels (one springer and two cockers) and I would say they are the perfect size being L. The two springers like to share occasionally and they are large enough (in a cosy way) for that. We have also had a large black lab staying recently and even he found room in them to spend the evening, although I would go XL if I were buying specifically for him. I can't comment on their washability or longevity at this stage but the build quality suggests they will be fine. Fill your boots.

Lovely lightweight but warm and cosy dog bed
I bought this ready for the colder months for my lab/collie. He loves it. Although he is classed as a medium dog I bought the extra large so he could really stretch out. He loved it and jumped in as soon as I had unpacked it. I thought the inner pad was detachable which I would have preferred as it would have made washing easier. Having said that my dog loves it so I am keeping it. Colour is true to picture. I bought the blue. It is great value and most beds cost a lot more. The picture shows how happy he is with his new bed.
