Super sharp!
This is probably one of the sharpest I have on my knife rack! From the moment I slide it out of the box I realized just how sharp it was since I gave myself a minor cut examining it for the first time. The material used for the handle ensures maximum grip during usage. For the price point you cannot go wrong with this beauty.

An "Economical" Quality Knife
I quoted the word "economical" in my subject because it is hard to write that a knife that is almost $90 is economical. Compared to some of the hand-forged knives I have, $90 really is a good price. The 2 locations, globally, that are renowned for their knife-making are Seki, Japan and Solingen, Germany. I am uncertain if this particular line is from Solingen, but it is labeled "Made in Germany". There are a few facilities in different countries for Zwilling, so I was happy to see this one was German.I have used Zwilling knives before and was always happy with their quality, overall. I did have one some years back that somehow developed a bend, but that is the exception.I am not familiar with the All*Star line and where it rests within all of the other lines that Zwilling has, so I don't know.many specifics. The handle is molded 1-piece and fits well with the knife. It is difficult to feel any ridge between polymer and steel, other than by temperature. There is a slight seam along the spine and belly of the handle, but you almost can't feel those either. The end cap in an interesting feature and I am uncertain why it is there. Maybe the tang is threaded and that is where it is bolted together, but I am not going to pry it apart to check. The rose gold cap is a nice color and I like the contrast against the black handle. The knife is very sharp. I have some decent sharpeners, but there is no need to sharpen this one out of the box. I do wish the entirety of the blade had a little less meat to it, but it really does.not detract from this great knife. If you appreciate good cutlery and don't mind paying for decent quality knives, this one might be good for you. With proper care and handling, this knife can last you for years to come.

Exquisite
I like to cook, but I don’t like to spend a lot on knives. However, you need to spend a little money to get a good knife. And anyone who cooks a bit knows it’s important to have knives that stay sharp, cut well, and feel good and solid in the hand.Until now, I would say my favorite knives in my kitchen are by Henckel. Zwilling is the higher end, premium line, made by the same company. I noticed that my Henckel knives are made in China and this Zwilling knife is made in Germany.I’m sure this will quickly become my new favorite knife. I took a photograph of the packaging. It arrives in an outer sleeve box with more writing on it shown in the lower portion of my photo. Inside of that sleeve is a lovely red box which contains the knife. This is extremely appropriate for gift giving. The knife has a black handle with a rose gold tip. I didn’t understand what this meant when I ordered it but the rose gold tip is on the end of the handle not on the knife. I have also included a photo of that.

By far my favorite knife brand
About 15 years ago I received a Zwilling chef's knife as a gift from my sister and to this day it is by far my favorite knife for cutting pretty much everything. I am extremely lucky to have a professional knife shaperner who has a mobile business that is at the Sunday markets every Spring/Summer that is 5 minutes from my house so this knife has stayed razor sharp. Then today I recieve the big brother to my fav knife and I am in awe of it's beauty and brand newness being all shiny and pretty and unscathed by 15 years of use. I carved a watermelon and it was like a hot knife thru butter. Love it, recommend it 100 times over - its worth the money if you keep them sharp. Makes cutting a breeze, and has a great ergonamic feel. The ONLY criticism I have is that I ordered the black bottom emblem but received the rose gold. Not an issue with the knife however so no reason to deduct any stars.

The quality for which Zwilling is known
When the name is "Zwilling," you know you're in it for quality. This knife is well constructed and has the microthin sharp blade for which the company is known. It's a great addition to my kitchen tool arsenal. Not sure why the box is as long as it is--perhaps so it can accommodate a number of different tools. Nonetheless, I'm not keeping the box so this doesn't matter. Just curious.
