I ordered this because, well... Most computers don't come with them anymore. It's a really well made drive for the money. Does everything I need it to and stows away nicely when not in use. Only thing I would recommend is a USB extension cable since the one on it is only 5-6 inches long.

Plug and play dvds and cds. I don’t like the really short cord and you can’t use an extension cord or it won’t work. It requires 5 V volts.

I used this to upload some audio disks and it worked well. Then a month later, I used it to watch one DVD. On my second DVD the following day it stopped working. The movie froze. No amount of resetting would make it work. I tried multiple good dvd's and none of them would work. When a dvd is inserted and the door is closed the dvd doesn't spin like normal. It just clicks and then turns off.

I bought this because I needed to put a CD based application on a new laptop. I may never use it again or at least not for 5 years.It was plug and play and did exactly what I needed it to do and was really cheap to buy. Perfect for the 1 a year CD need.

It is very compact and works well. The tray only opens about 1/4" and then you have to pull it out by hand which is a bit odd. Also the tray does not have a firm base so I hold the tray up while I push the DVD into place. However for the money it is definitely worthwhile and serves my purpose as I am to a heavy user thereof.

I got this for my husband for father's day. He is not technically minded, but hooked it up quickly, connected it to his bluetooth speaker and listens to old CD's all day. It works well without skipping--which was a problem with his previous one.

I know this isn't supposed to work with a Chromebook but it actually worked with mine which was shocking and a big relief because that's technically what I needed it for.I was able to take some CDs that were burned back in the early 2000s and transfer most of it onto my Chromebook which was pretty great. Somebody is MacBook and that did not work just kind of surprising because it should have worked easier on that than it did on my Chromebook.

The unit works well. It looks fine. It has an integrated cord, which seems to be the standard for very low cost drives (it must be cheaper than building in a USB port). That brings me to the most disappointing part of this product: the integrated cord is very short, even shorter than the description indicates - it’s only 180 mm, not 200 (which is already very short). If your not plugging this in right next to a laptop, order a USB extension as well.
